settings not working

Sep 24 2013 Anchor

hi Darth, I have disabled settings for now, and set it to auto detect monitor resolution and sound. Is there any particular setting you wish to modify which is barring your experience?

Hi everyone, wonder if you have had a chance to engage any enemy with the starting corvette. Or at least test fired its weapons. What do you think of the rate of fire? Been doing some testing it feels a little slow ( and this is how weapons mainly are) they don't fire too fast.

I am wondering if you are in agreement that they could do with a boost in speed, but an increase in heat output so you can't fire them endlessly.

I would LOVE to see boarderless/ undecorated windows. This setting basically strips the title bar and the boarder off of the window. This allows you to have a fullscreen game, if you set the resolution to your native resolution, but without all of the lag that fullscreen mode has as it "pops" in and out of the game. If you need an example, look at StarSector

Hi am not quite certain what you mean. The game runs in full screen if you check the box on the launcher. Also if you use the auto detect settings it will set it to your desktop resolution. The version 0.8 launcher had bugs where it wouldn't work on lower resolutions in case it wasn't working for you properly.

Those issues seem to have been resolved with the new one in my testing.

The best way to show you what I am talking about is this:
Go to ...Fractal Softworks\Starsector\starsector-core\data\config\settings.json on your comp
open the .json with a text editor
set the "undecoratedWindow\" portion to true and save your settings
start Starsector in a resolution that matches your native one
make sure fullscreen mode is OFF
start Starsector.
Now you basically have a "fullscreen" game without having to use fullscreen mode, making things like alt tabing to a different process easier and quicker and allows for the game to use ALL of the screen instead of having some wasted by the "boarder" around the edges that most windows have
