Sorry I left this out guys!

Manual should be available in the next update, the update will be uploaded this weekend, you know how it goes with Desura and patches, but they did oblige me and push out the critical update this week when it had a critical bug. :)

Please note there are some place holder images still, and the bottom left window is to receive new icons.

To launch, click on full screen check box for full screen, then auto detect settings. Or select full screen, then the desired resolution button on the left and click launch game.

Maneuver:

WASD or Arrow keys.

W - Sets a forward speed, your ship's actual speed then catches up.

You will continue to fly forward even if you let go of w.

S - Same as W, can set your ship to reverse.

Left Mouse - Peruse the interface (also fires special weapons when found later in game)

Right Mouse - Fire in the direction of your mouse pointer (IF the pointer falls within the firing arc of your guns)
the starting ship only has forward firing guns, and a narrow front arc)

Tab - Go to warp speed

Shift-Tab (together) Drop from warp

Space Bar - All stop, or emergency stop

Escape - Main menu buttons

Left Control - Cut engines (drift) (press to toggle on/off)

F12 - Pause/Unpause

Left click an image in space such as a station, ship, planet, or asteroid to select it as the active target. A target bracket will appear around it if it has been targeted.

You need to target ships before you can hail them, you can also target via tactical view by clicking on the icons in tactical view.

Clicking 'Save options' or 'load options' after bringing up the menu while in game, will make the relevant panels visible/not visible.

Thanks!

Forgot - Left Control cuts engines and puts you in kind of an inertia mode.

If the screen disappears, hit enter, it was a debug thing that is still in. it actually pauses the game.

Will we get a real pause button, where we can use the interface? I mean, it is kind of annoying to die because you are reading the starting message, or trying to understand how the interface work for hiring personnel. By the way, this interface really need some work. The lack of visual feedback made me think it just did not work. It seems like you cannot even know which crew member occupies which post.

Hi Edrin, yes there will be a pause button, however, dying in the beginning is more a bug in dynamic event code. Nothing should be happening so early.

Also just to be certain, you can see which crew member is assigned to which post by clicking on the crewman, the list on the right with his stats will show his assignment. Click on him again after assigning him and it should be updated.

Thanks for the feedback. These are the kinds of things I will fix/change based on feedback.

To update this, you no longer have to click the crewman to see his assignment, when you assign him, his assignment will change in his status on the right.

Also pause/unpause is now F-12

Also the beginning area is now functioning correctly as a safe area. You will not be jumped. But it is possible for hostile action to occur close by due to the on-going war.

Thank you for this. You seem not to be the kind of people to use the pause function in games much… If I may, “F12” rarely is the standard choice for pause (might be the first game in which F12 pauses). Most games work with the “pause” key, some with the “p”, and in special cases, the space bar, which of course wouldn't fit here.
It probably would help people to find the pause if it was triggered by pause.

I will set it to be P as well. And no you're right, I think pausing is more on console games than anything else. Or you press escape which brings up the menu which pauses. :)
