OGRE EXEPTION: Failed to create 3D9 Device Thread - Vector Thrust

Whenever I try and start the game, this error shows up.

"OGRE EXCEPTION(3:RenderingAPIException): Failed to create Direct3D9 Device: Invalid call in D3D9RenderWindow::createD3DResources at ..\src\OgreD3D9RenderWindow.cpp (line 606)"

If you need me to put up the entire OGRE text, I can. I'm running the steam version, and I also happen to have a very old laptop, though according to the minimum requirements I should be able to run the game. I'm running Windows 7.

DirectX is fully updated, and so are my drivers. Anyone know what may be causing the problem?

Try this hotfix (till the patch is released) k9catforce. There's a config.ini file in the Vector Thrust directory. Edit it with Notepad and just change the width and height to your monitor size and replace following lines with this:

[renderer]
width = xxxx
height = yyyy
FSAA = 0
colourDepth = 32
vsync = true
fullscreen = true

[Display]
GraficQuality = 4
ModelQuality = 4
TextureQuality = 4
WorldQuality = 4
EffectsQuality = 4
EffectsNumber = 3
Bloom = false
Glow = false
Distortion = false
Radial Blur = false

Then save the file and boot up Vector Thrust.
