A 'just for fun' multi-era campaign idea set in real world involving a similar situation to the current real-world geopolitics (like the tensions between China/Russia vs almost the rest of Asia/Europe respectively, and what if the entire world still stuck with '80s-'90s era technology), mercenaries, natural disasters and eventually ended with global thermonuclear war then ultimately....alien invasion (sorry, but 'Human Extinction Simulator' title had already been taken). Also, multiple endings.

Most importantly, this campaign may or may not have Polandball-level of political (in)correctness; humorous, sarcastic, and even tragic tone (or even all three of them!) depending on which path you take.

More idea to come.

Campaign story prologue, the first chapter 'The Apocalypse':

The year is 2010 AD, the world slowly drag itself into a new generation of World War as remilitarization and ultranationalism spirit is in all-time high since the end of Cold War back in '90s. Old hatred and scars of war resurfaces as each nation/faction start making war rhetorics and territorial disputes among each other, therefore triggering the Second Cold War. Meanwhile, amidst the worldwide chaos, various mercenaries and private military corporates around the world consider this situation as a gold rush....

Did I just say PMCs? Fear not, familiar beings like Artemis and Martinez Security will appear as cameo™

update: There was a major rewrite in the game plan, so that the campaign is divided into 2 sections: "Soldier of Fortune" (a campaign of betrayal and conspiracy™) and "Last Day of Humanity/The Ark" (a mini-campaign where you're protecting a spaceship construction project until it can be launched, and yes; Poland can(not) into space)

Also may or may not loosely inspired by Front Mission. No, not that incompetent Michael Bay's one.

Would be fun, but only if the Russia\China side is playable (like in C&C). Kinda tired of "Eagleland"-only campaigns.

The main character (nameless, but always refered as "Alpha One" and NOT silent) and his squadron are mercenaries, therefore after finishing the prologue chapter that set in certain somewhere in Africa or Middle East (yet to be decided), you're free to choose which nations/factions you're fighting for:

  • Russia/China/Pakistan
  • USA/Japan/Australia (plus several ASEAN nations and India)
  • South Korea (2nd Korean war in line of Falcon 4, also heating rivalry with Japan and China)
  • EU/NATO + Ukraine(yes, there'll be a mission involving Crimea, but I need to think about it first)
  • Great Britain (may or may not involving preventing Scotland from separating from UK and some certain fictional UK/Irish terrorist groups)
  • Some fictional corporations; one of which could be as downright silly as possible by involving helping a fictional Polish corporate so that they can into space, 100% DRM free I swear. And yes, of course there'll be $camco, Ubisoft, EA, Bohemia, Eagle Dynamics, Microsoft and Activision expies
  • lastly, not aligning to any warring factions, staying as freelance merc and not getting involved in any occuring major battles.

As stated in my previous hint, you'll meet different mercenary groups as ally/rival/adversary depends on which faction you're fighting for. And completing a faction's campaign will give you a special plane as the reward (before advancing into the next 'act')

Mission will be varying degree from reconassiance flight, VIP escort, anti-terror, CAS and COIN, to major ground/naval battles, to downright silly situations. Like helping Australia to win the Second Cyber-Emu War, and preventing the hijacking of SpaceShip One by some drunk terrorists, and some missions involving zombie apocalypse-cultists. Maybe.

Speaking of the second act, I'll give a hint what it'll be: Post-apocalypse
