Recently I wanted a Payday-like atmosphere on VT, and came up with this idea:

It's a MP coop stealth-oriented game mode (although brute force still applies but is actually a much more difficult approach) with various objective ranging from simple target destruction, hacking, POW rescue & escort etc. Basically you must stay stealthy and low for the entire mission, otherwise you'll be greeted by gradually more powerful enemy waves each specific duration cue loud electronic/dubstep song when busted. There are many ways to get yourself detected;spotlights, numerous amount of annoying radar circles™ around the map (size depends on how high you fly, the lower the smaller), patrolling enemy planes (a squadron will be dispatched to the location where the enemy plane is downed, your stealth will be compromised if get spotted by the said squadron/trying to attack them). Ground targets & structures, however won't raise the alarm (even AA guns/SAM that fire at you), but naval units still can detect you. As the substitute for the CloakerBulldozerTazer Payday-like special units, there's map-specific special unit (jammer aircraft/ground vehicle, special squadron, superweapon, etc) which only appears on certain circumstances (i.e taking too long finishing the mission). Oh, preferably the map design should emphasize the use of canyons/tunnels.

In order to complete the mission every surviving players have to HEAD TO indicated off-map boundary within alloted time limit. Failure to do so, and have fun surviving endless insta-kill missile alerts.

Lastly, no thermal drill is needed nor need of fixing anything.
