very impressive. I love the shooting range (and the gun... obviously.)

Nice but isn't the reloading a little too slow? I think people hurry to reload when they're at war :)

If anything the reload is much faster than a real person could. They must dispose of or store the old mag and the reach into their pockets/bag for a new mag, all while holding the weapon.

that all depends on the gun and the person.

Yes the gun in this case would take a bit longer to reload than an m4/ar15, but I think the point is that it should look more rushed.

The shooter would be in a hurry to get the next mag in, while in this vid it looks like he is very calm and relaxed. Maybe speeding up the reload animation but taking more time while the hand is out of the screen (getting a new mag) would be the most realistic way to do it.

Either way, the animation is very very well done.

Yes, the reloading feels like I'm back in RO1. Keep it that way :p

Nik Sumnall was the original weapon animator for RO and him and myself got to work together on past projects. So i take a lot of his inspiration in my animations. :)

Everything looks great but the shooting sounds really need work. It's like they have no power to them, just some default weapon sound. The environment doesn't react to the sound as well. No echoing or anything, takes a lot from all the superb detail.

Thats a good point. I believe this weapon fires either a .303 or a 7.62x51 (not sure which) but either way it shouldn't be such a low thud type noise. Those are relatively powerful rounds and should have a loud sharp sound. (and some echo would help)

The Bren was designed to be reloaded by the spotter. Will that be a feature of the game?

While that would be realistic, I think it would be a very difficult gameplay mechanic to put in right. There would be the need for communication and the right position for the event to trigger. Also, two players would need to be perfectly synced and trained for this specific operation to actually benefit from that slightly faster reload time. Seems like a lot of hassle for such a small gain.

Nonetheless, it's good to think outside the box and try to add these small realistic events into the game whenever possible and useful. That way it stands out from all other generic WW2 shooters.

Is the brass going out the bottom? If I recall it's a bottom ejector

beauty of a weapon, would love to hear the concussive sound of the rifle echo out though.

CryEngine handles realtime environment reverb, echo etc really well. Only it hasn't yet been implemented to our firing range. In the future it won't be so dry.

Looks incredible. Only gripe is the weapon fire sound - sounds a bit weak, not enough punch, you know? 'course that may just be me. :p
