The second I saw those Bone Catapults, I knew it was Patrick gameplay!
Swarming catapults is a legit strategy of the Swarm.
Some may even call it a Patastrophe :D
Don't worry Patrick, we have all been there, we all know the Swarm Bone Catapult mass with all production speed upgrades is too tempting to avoid. :)
Hey, what about one faction upgrading their Catapults with Flaming Oil (incresed AoE) and Plaguelords Bone Cats with Plague Munitions?
I too would like to see something like this, particularly cows being thrown as rotting bits of meat to reduce enemy morale etc. It could likely herald a new future Nausea psyche effect!
Cow throwing is already a thing, though instead of extra damage it should spread disease or at least lowering the morale with the Nausea mechanic you mentioned (I would seriously love it if Plague armies were about inflicting debuffs on the enemy through armour eating acids on the Slimes, diseases everywhere and morale destroying Nausea). It would be really cool if Plaguelords got a brownish version of the Bone Catapult (possibly with new name like Plague Mangonel or something) that deal disease aswell as damage and you can upgrade the area of effect of the disease with some upgrade called "Feverish Rot" or something in the likes.
Dwarves or Empire getting a "Oil Munitions" upgrade to allow Catapults to deal fire damage could be cool aswell, the dwarves are supposed to be masters at siege warfare but they only get the regular stock anyway plus a new upgrade for siege, which isn't much.
We have already had a minor discussion about Catapults, including Bone Catapults inflicting disease. We did even consider doing something with them for the upcoming version, but then chose to wait till version 0.8.7.
All I can say at the moment is that "something" will happen in regards to Catapults in 0.8.7 - but we of course need to get 0.8.6 out the door first. :)
