The other day, my daughter asked me a question that caught me off guard, "Why does the princess always need rescuing in games? Why can't the prince get rescued by the princess?" She had a point there. What's wrong with the woman rescuing the man-in-distress to save the day? I set my Google-fu in action and discovered Sha Cat - the casual, action RPG in development by David Zobrist!

Sha Cat is designed and developed by David Zobrist, an indie developer located in Berlin, Germany. His first project, The Sha Man, was released for the iOS platform in Winter 2013. This time around he decided to create an action RPG game with a unique premise. Players are immersed into the role of a shamanistic kitty in her quest to save her kidnapped boyfriend from the clutches of wicked creatures. You'll need to master Sha Cat's shaman powers to battle your way past hordes of minions, journeying through dark caves and spooky castles. An action RPG wouldn't be complete with gear right? You'll find mushrooms along the way that you can trade in for magical clothes and accessories to enhance current powers and add new ones. Along the way, you'll meet friends that will help you with your quest. On the surface, it looks like David is approaching this the right way - offering a challenging and enjoyable action RPG experience without dumbing it down to appeal to a female audience. You can follow the progress of Sha Cat on Google+ and Facebook. We look forward to providing a full review when the game goes live in April!
