Running Beer is a beer heist in a dystopian future - a "Pac-Man meets My Summer Car meets Metal Gear Solid" type of top-down game developed by Kaljameri Games using Unreal Engine 4. The game features a fully interactive physics environment and will have a range of original characters with individual perks and power-ups.
In Running Beer (Finnish: Juoksukaljasimulaattori) you play as a member of the resistance movement, fighting against the ever-tightening regulation by the conservative state.
The player must grab beer and run. The aim is to sneak strictly regulated beer out from a supermarket without getting caught by the security guards. As the game progresses, the heists become more and more challenging with larger stores and new types of enemies.
The game won the Assembly Summer 2015 festival's Game Development competition.
Today, it is the last day of the Game Development course, meaning that today the Kaljameri team dissolves, or so to say, enters a winter sleep of undefined length.
There are no longer schedule or plans of further development of Running Beer. We sincerely apologise the disappointment this might cause to those who have been waiting for our next release.
The past few months have been really interesting time, during which we all have learned and experienced a lot. We want to thank all of our fans, supporters and everyone involved. Your comments, let's play videos, and everything else our game inspired you to do, have been super important for us. Running Beer was truly a game made completely for its fans.
