Hello!
We are excited to announce the official Early Access launch for Rocco's Island: Ring to End the Pain.
The Early Access Period
Rocco's Island: Ring to End the Pain” is a saga that spans many centuries and takes place within a unique universe. As of now, we are working extremely hard to finish the story in its full breadth and depth without compromise, thus have made the decision to present the game only up to its second chapter in the initial Early Access version, with the third and fourth chapters added episodically through later updates. We would greatly appreciate feedback and suggestions from the community regarding the look, feel, level difficulty, and gameplay mechanics to ensure that players of all skill levels can pick up and truly enjoy the game and story.
The main purpose of Early Access is to make sure that "Rocco's Island: Ring to End the Pain" becomes a highly polished and well-rounded product for full release. While we have definite ideas for what needs to be done before the full release, player's feedback and opinion is always important to us as well. In the meantime, we are on schedule to finish the full game within the next few months, as well as a spin-off game that further elaborates upon the tenuous relationship between two of our major characters.
As such, if you find any bugs or would like to make suggestions on how to improve the game please let us know! You can reach us on any of the channels below.

Rocco's Island OST Album Collection
Gameplay Video
(Created Sep 11th, by Taeho Kim, Yonghwy Kim & Haewon Lee, Album Cover by Joori Song )
Hello all,
Today we want to begin sharing our original sound track of Rocco's Island. The sound track music has been directed by Yonghwy Kim and been written by artist Taeho Kim and Haewon Lee. To be honest, the whole experience was a very long process since the artist needed to understand the story and personas of the map environment and None playable Characters.
Since we didn't have all the concepts finished before we started to make the music, it required a lot of research and discussion on what the game will look like in the future.
Our initial goal was to make an album of the game music as OST to represent the universe we are creating in Rocco's Island.
The team will be updating this thread revealing one song a day. We will be updating everyday before the early access release coming up very soon. All the songs on the OST will be available on Steam for purchase later.
So here it is. =)

Hello all,
Today we wanted to share a video that includes the first impression of the game. Rocco's Island begins the game by showing Evelyn's nightmare and waking up on a desolate beach. Our intensions were to leave a lot of room for the player to figure out what to do and decide where to go.
So here it is. =)
Please let us know what you think. We are receiving feedback that the game is too slow and loose from the beginning, however we think it is necessary room for the player to think and explore the possibilities.
We haven't really worked on the camera yet, but we think it's too closed in to the character at this moment. So allow us to work on it to tune the immersiveness moving forward.
More to come.
Here is a video of the island.
Here are some screenshots of the game.

One of the core mechanics making adventure games really interesting is solving mini puzzles. For Rocco's Island, it was pretty clear from the start that we wanted to implement the 2048 puzzle because we've been such a big fan of the genre for quite some time. We even created 'Dead 2048' on mobile to add a tower defense flavor to the puzzle.
Ideas were tossed back and forth between Joori and Sangpil on how and where to place these mini games.
For some of them we wanted to be hidden like below. We've placed vaults in hidden places and players can earn rewards if they can open the vault by playing 2048 puzzle.
For some we wanted to be an obstacle like the image blow. If you can't seem to figure out where to go because the roads are disconnected, look out for a mystical 2048 puzzle gate that will open and connect the roads behind it.
In case you haven't heard of the 2048 puzzle before, the objective of the game is to slide numbered tiles on a grid to combine them to create a tile with the target number. 2048 is played on a plain 4x4 grid, with numbered tiles that slide when a player moves them using the mouse or arrow keys on the keyboard. Every turn, a new tile randomly appears in a n empty spot on the board with a value of either 2 or 4. If the two tiles of the same number collide while moving, they merge into a tile with the sum value of the two tiles that collided. It's really fun, so try the game if you haven't tried it.
We plan on finding more places to integrate the fun puzzle.
More to come.

Hi!
As the team is putting together different parts of the game, we started to work on the main title intro scene that introduces the logo. All graphics are work in progress. We only started working on this a few weeks ago, but we really wanted to show you a glimpse of what the scene would look like.
We finished on the logo design a couple of weeks ago. The team animated this logo like it is being painted by a brush.
Then the logo shrinks and moves a little to the top while instantly 4 slots appear. This slot is where players can save their progress while playing the game. Each slot is distinguished by different bossess that appear in the game.
We created dotted UI circling the slot to show which slot is chosen by the player.
Once the player clicks the highlighted slot again with the mouse the game automatically starts where the player left off. But just before that we created a logo animation of eva raising her hand just like what she does when she opens a puzzle door in the game.
We also created an option UI where the player can set different settings of the game.
The players can change their language, resolution and sound/music volume. We are currently considering to add another performance gage that would turn off all heavy performance duty for the lower end PCs.
Also, once a player finishes their first game play, it is now marked with the mark of Rocco. So players will return to this page once they finish seeing the ending and the credits cinematics.
With the concept and flow designed by Joori, Jonghyeon has implemented it in the game. You can check the Youtube to see how the details were implemented.
Upcoming changes.
1) Cinematics concept and Storyboard
2) Additional animation for Jon(fly) and Tet(fossil)
3) Soundfx and BGM integration
Stay tuned for more updates.
