Red Alert: A Path Beyond brings the exciting storyline and epic clashes from the classic Westwood Studios game, Command & Conquer: Red Alert to realm of first person shooters, with a twist. We've remained loyal to the style and feel of the 1996 classic, while integrating content from its expansions Counterstrike and The Aftermath with a bit of updated history to add to the mix. Built off the W3D engine Westwood Studios built for classics such as Earth & Beyond and Command & Conquer: Renegade finished up in 2001, we help bring the fight to you as you play out your role as any one of a number of infantry classes participating in team-based combat that often involves land, sea, and air combined-arms clashes that just don't happen in any other game. Oh, and did we mention it's FREE?

In the absence of regular updates at moddb I thought I'd update the extended community

Posted by on

With many months going between updates at moddb I thought I'd let the extended community (those who do not check the website or forums regularly) know we still exist and haven't fallen off the face of the earth (yet)

Blogs:

Our weekly blogs still continue to be posted on our forums every Sunday. Containing new information, previews and a ground to have questions answered, they serve as our main form of news update within the community for our project.

Wiki's:

Our wikipedia entry page is back online, after it was removed late last year for not conforming with wikipedias standards. We revamped it last week to include much more information about the history of the project and how it fits into the Command & Conquer scene. This time it actually follows the format for the proper game wiki page.
Our community run APBwiki has also been relaunched and updated, newer information, expanded pages and proper tables allow fans to contribute to the wiki and help others learn the game. Link to APBwiki.

Balance Update:

The following statistics were taken from the official APB gameserver. Wins resulting from a server shutdown have been discarded.

(Soviet) - (Allied)
7281 vs 7392
49.62% vs 50.38%

Within half a percent, you have even odds of winning if you randomly join a game of APB. Pretty impressive balance as always. I hope the changes we're about to make for the new version won't blast this to pieces, because we're significantly overhauling the infantry portion of the game.

Be sure to keep checking the website and forums for further updates and join the community.
