The early concept prototype of Radiance :: Lux Prima video game - Windows Only (PC)
Note: We'll be posting the Mac/OSX version soon so please check back in a few days if you are looking for that particular platform.
Installation: Just Unzip into your Documents or Desktop folder. A Radiance folder will be created. Navigate into this folder and launch the 'Radiance_Lux_Prima_PC_P01.exe' file (the one with the Radiance icon). It will launch the display resolution dialogue, choose your preferred display resolution and launch the prototype. At the main menu, choose 'continue' for now (this will be fixed on the next version).
Disclaimer: This download is a pre-alpha build and a work in progress. Visuals and gameplay may constantly change and improve. This build is not a representation of the final version.
THANKS: We want to share our work in progress with you at this early stage so that you may contribute with your most valuable feedback and experience first hand the progress made on the game as we forge our first journey.
:: ABOUT RADIANCE :: LUX PRIMA ::
Radiance :: Lux Prima is a Beat 'em Up / Brawler genre video game that would be initially available for PC/Mac/Linux and will optionally be available for other platforms depending on community support / acceptance.
As we stated already, this is a really early concept prototype, part of the reason behind its release is because we are currently running our Indiegogo crowd funding campaign, thus we'll like you all to rest assure we can and will provide all features we commit on adding to it. We'll constantly be updating the prototype as the campaign progress and will notify here at IndieDB of all the changes / upgrades we submit so you can check it out!
We hope you can give us your feedback about how do you like the prototype so far and more important about how do you feel we can improve it! So please don't hesitate to comment about what you would like to see implemented and also what you don't like so we can consider and make the game more of your liking as we go!
We strive to make a video game that you can enjoy not only while playing for the first time, but also one you could enjoy replaying as much as possible.
This early concept are not multi-player but soon enough we'll introduce the ability to connect multiple gamepads in order to play offline Coop multiplayer!
:: ABOUT THIS PARTICULAR RELEASE ::
We acknowledge there's lots of colliders missing (restricted to walk-in areas) so this being said, the intended way of playing it is side-scrolling (traditional Beat 'em Up like). It is not intended for the player to walk to the back of the stage - meaning that if you go back, you'll find nothing but a bunch of assets you might traverse or not or even get stuck.
Objectives : Walk trough the stage, get a very basic feel of the action type, while you knock down a few Assassin Goblins around and walk / run to the very end (far right side of the stage where you find a giant wood gate and there's and 'exit demo' sign).
Structures :
There's only 3 structures you might enter so far on the prototype: The Beer House, The Inn and The Water Well.
* Beer House - 2nd structure from left to right with the giant beer barrel on its roof :
Event: you can rescue the fellow that's in danger there if you interact in the 'logical' way with the environment - this is the only event we have scripted on the early concept prototype and is only intended so that you can get a basic grasp of the type of adventure type events you can find trough out the final First Chapter stages!
* The Inn - you can enter it now, there's no event yet - it is planned
* The Water Well - you can enter it now, there's no event yet, just traverse it up to the far right most side and then climb (touch) the roots on there to 'climb' out - it leads to the prototype exit.
Items:
* Meat - for now if you touch it, you'll eat it, there's no inventory or dialogue option to refuse eating it yet.
* Healing Herb (to be added in the next prototype version)
Effects:
* Poison - the meat will also pose chance of it being poisoned - if you ingest it you'll have to wait a random poison effect time frame. You'll see the HUD display lit on green, confirming the poison effect.
We apologize for any inconveniences you might encounter while playing the 'early concept prototype' - remember if you do want to offer feedback is more than welcomed so we can improve over it!
We are really happy (the whole team at First Light Studios) that you all have taken your time to take a look at the prototype and play trough it! Because of it we are on fire! XD We are so pumped up as to keep working on it all remaining week non-stop to see how far we could take it until this weekend and upload a new version with fixes / updates for you try!
Cheers!
- Luis
:::::::::::::::::: Instructions :::::::::::::::::::::::
[ Controls ]
( Keyboard )
WASD - character movement
CTRL - Basic Slash (Sorry no combos yet!)
Space - Jump
ESC - Quick reset / exit menu
( GamePad )
Analog Directional - character movement
A - Jump
X - Basic Slash (Sorry no combos yet!)
ESC - Quick reset / exit menu
[ Basic Gameplay ]
For now is just slash all goblins around - we still don't have combo moves, also the main character is not the one you'll be using so this one is a place holder for now. We don't have combo moves in place at this version neither, hopefully they'll be set (even if basic) for the next release / iteration. Then you can enter some of the structures, scroll down to the [ structures ] section to learn more about it!
Camera is side view (as in traditional Beat 'em Ups - you don't get to control it)
Action is always trough the right direction (again as in traditional Beat 'em Ups - however areas are not restricted yet, so you can go wherever you want at will, this will be fixed on next release and we will update this section then)
[ Structures ]
You can enter en the 3rd Structure (the one with the huge Barrel on top) and there you can rescue a villager if you can deduct what to do regarding the environment
You can enter the Inn too (the one with the tinted colored windows) - there's still no action / event in there but you can see it (there's meat in there over the counter)
You almost got to the Water Well (You just needed to jump over it ! :) So you can see the underground and then exit trough the right most where the 'roots are' ..
Otherwise you are so right is a pretty short 'early concept prototype' so you can have a grasp on the wanted game 'feel'
The reason for the side view camera is because since its a beat 'em up we will make the areas so that you can't go past a certain distance until accomplishing the things needs to be done or enemies needed to be cleared. Expect that for the next release (hopefully for next week).
that was awesome to play are you going to make it a F2P or are you going to make it a paid game?
