Poromaxia is an artillery game similar to Angry Birds and planned to be released on Steam and Desura. In Poromaxia you take the role of little, fluffy, fuzzballs called Poros who have decided to help aid their planet, Maxia Prime by launching themselves into a generator at the end of the level and using their self-destruct ability at birth to destroy the generators. Have a total of 100 Poros planned!

Poromaxia Awakened
So the world of Maxia Prime has finally awakened, and progress on the game has swiftly begun, and I've been working on tons of sprites, and environments to bring to the game and make it the cute, fantasy like world we're going for. Players can expect to dive into very unique environments that will range from forests, to the tallest peaks of the tallest mountains. However, as mentioned each level will be randomly generated, and to work on this making unique experiences every-time the player decides to hop into the game they can choose between four zones. Each of these zones have varying difficulties, and environments which can cater to call the various kinds of Poro. I've also decided that if a player owns more than one kind of Poro they can use all of them in the stage, instead of the previous restrictions of only using one.

Now I did mention that the game would ship with only 6 Poro's, which seems kind of low for a game like this. So, we'll be creating mores Poro's for the final release and hopefully entice the players to play the game more and use these creatures to their full potential, and use each of their abilities. I've decided to reveal three more Poro's that have been created, and these cute little guys should really bring something great to the experience as a whole (or so I'm hoping).

Swanky Poro
The Swanky Poro is probably one of my favorite of the Poro's I've designed. The Swanky Poro is common to the
urban regions of Maxia Prime and are mainly seen visiting Night-Clubs, and partying all around the world. With their
god-given "party skills" they have the ability to enter a drunken stupor, and not get harmed by anything for a short amount of time.

Cyborg Poro
The Cyborg Poro was created through a rather unfortunate accident. This Poro was caught in a chemical explosion
and lost half of it's body, and facial features. Now, this Poro has been fitted with a cyborg half which when used can calculate the best path
for completing a map.

Tribal Poro
The Tribal Poro are common to the jungle regions of Maxia Prime, and had odd traditions to keep their
life-style, and religions alive. The Tribal Poro are adorned with a variety of facial markings that can distinguish them from others in their tribes.
This Poro has the ability to shoot an arrow while moving through the air to disable a trap, or enemy.

So, those are the three new additions to the Poro family, and hopefully can bring a rather fun and unique game-play experience to everyone who comes to play Poromaxia. Some other mentions, and details need to be brought forward. Since, the game is always subject to tweaking and change, there is always the possibility we tweak how the game is going to work, and play. However, no changes have been thought up and the current plans and objectives are staying the same. The game is currently being designed on XNA which we can hopefully use to release the game via Steam, and Desura. Prices have also been tossed about and we're hoping, and being curious that game would be fairly cheap if we can sell it, and don't want the game being priced any more than $5 (with an ideal price of $2). But, that's a long ways away and we currently need to think about the design process of Poromaxia, and get a larger team together to help complete the game. And, in conclusion if anyone is curious about applying for "Team Poro" and aiding in the design of Poromaxia, and future projects then please do so. We have a few positions available. These positions include...

Programmer
Anyone who is knowledgable with the XNA please apply. We need a few programmers to help with
developing the game.

Level Designers
Going to need a few level designers to help figure out the randomly generated map idea. And if we cannot release the
randomly generated maps, then we need some level designers to create levels for the game.

Sound Artists
To help make sound effects for the game. I.E the Poros, Traps, etc.

Composer
To make cute music for the game to be used at the title screen, and during the levels.

2D Animators
To help animate all the sprites being designed for the game.

Graphics Design
This would really be helpful to help make some UI, and craft some of the screens. For example the Title Screen,
Leaderboards and Menus.

So, yes. Please apply if you're curious about aiding in the development of Poromaxia. This game would hopefully bring something new to the genre, and maybe interest lots of people to try it out, and tell their friends about the game. Remember, Poromaxia has Weekly Updates that happen every Friday, so please stay-tuned and follow progress on the game.
