You've dreamt about this day since you first picked up Pokémon Red & Blue in 1998. The day when you'd be able to roam a complete 3D world as a Pokémon trainer and see the pocket monsters you love roaming that same world with you. The day when you'd be able to interact with other (real-world) trainers in live-action without the use of a link cable, and without having to sit at a Pokémon Center hoping someone would accept your challenge via Wi-Fi. I'm proud to announce that day will soon be here!
Pokémon World 3D (herein referred to as PW3D) is not to be confused with the online battle simulator. PW3D aims to be the world's first true 3D Pokémon massive multiplayer online role-playing game. Unlike many other Pokémon MMOs that can be found online, PW3D will not be a top-down view of the Pokémon world. Nor will it be a 2.5D version, similar to what's found in Pokémon X & Y. Pokémon World 3D will feature 100% full 3D in an ambitous full world setting. Players will be able to explore an immersive world (that will span all known regions to-date) with "living"...roaming Pokémon. Random encounters will not be seen in PW3D. Instead players will be able to locate Pokémon...walk right up to them...engage them in battle...and attempt to capture them. Of course, the more rare Pokémon will need to be hunted down. Legendaries will also have a place in PW3D.
Features that will be included are (but not limited to):
Pokémon World 3D aims to be as true to the source material as possible. With that said, the game will retain it's turn-based nature when it comes to Pokémon battles. However, unlike the flat 2D or 2.5D battle screens found on GB, GBC, GBA, DS and some PC mods...the battle system of PW3D will be very similar to that Pokémon Battle Royale where both player and (battling) Pokémon are on the battlefield simultaneously in full 3D with complete battle animations and effects where the Pokémon actually physically respond to what's happening.

The Alpha is being re-released tonight on our GameJolt page. However, due to an oversight on the development team, before downloading this latest client it is imperative that you delete any and all files (and folders) on your hard drive pertaining to old releases, BEFORE downloading this latest client. In the future, this will not be necessary as all patches and updates will happen automatically when the game is initialized. We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused, and as always thank you for your continued support.
Pokemon World 3D Alpha has been officially released!
