Old Town is an adventure horror game build in the Unreal Development Kit being developed by a single artist, Chris Holden. They are coming for you. Your only chance is escape the city through an unknown path riddled with obstacles. Development began in late summer 2010. However, in January 2011, Old Town's focus was changed to tighter, more immersive, gameplay experience too allow for a more immediate demo release, and additional per-level released.
Good news! Digging through back-ups, I found the UDK source files of Old Town pretty close to the released demo. During the downtime, I focused on other levels of Old Town. Most of them grew apart from the original idea, yet still the same genre. They may become separate games to allow quicker releases of like-minded projects. Such as, a dungeon Youtu.be , Papyrus Youtu.be & illuminate Indiedb.com
Throughout the level are pieces of paper that the main character collects thoughts on. Due to the minimalistic interface approach, this was originally...
I've suffered a catastrophic computer failure on the Old Town work machine. While I have data back-ups, I'll be unable to meet my personal demo deadlines...

Can i know this game informations
Is it possible to get the demo to go fullscreen at 1600x900 res?
I played through the demo and I'd like to say you did a really good job! I really enjoyed myself. The flying mechanical creature did a good job at making me wonder what the hell is going on.
I noticed a couple things to critique (even though you might already know). The textures on the pill bottles and gas mask stood out and really should be fixed. The moving blood textures seem a little strange to me. Some objects are in the wall. It seems weird that the boulder goes through the wall and continues down the stairs even though it sticks out through walls. I guess I'm just tripping cause of the pills. The note about the third eye doesn't disappear after picking it up, and I'm sure you know about the journal acting weird while closing it leaving two pages up on the screen.
Again I've just got to say great job! I look forward to getting the message off of those notes. Keep it up.
Sulcuryalt: Thank you for your positive comments! These are what helps the most. All of your feedback is great, and I appreciate it. I'm all over the journal bugs, and that stairwell has always been touchy with timing. Thanks you, and I'll do what I can.
Things seem great so far :) definitely looking forward to more content in the future.
Looking good tracking!
it is amnesia-like? will be free?
azultain, Amnesia and the Penumbra series were definite influences. However, it was starting this project that lead to me playing them as I was somewhat out of the loop. One could easily draw comparisons which I accept as Amnesia is an amazing game I tell everyone to take a closer look at.
And unless something crazy happens (like someone backing a dump truck full of money to my door) this game will be released for free. My currently staggered set of goals is to release an alpha demo (first level), then continue releasing single levels over time until it reach full game size. As well as rereleasing the original level with updates based on demo feedback and overall direction the game takes.
good to know, when your game will be release I speak to my blog. and around of me
This....please don't let it be one of those projects that ends up slowly dying, see it through to fruition! Awesome work so far!
I'll do my best! To me, that's the point of putting up this page; getting the feedback and support to drive me to the finish. While I'm new on this site, you can track my youtube channel or epic forum's page to see I've been updating this project regularly. I'll be sure to update this page often as I'm learning the ways of the indiedb community.
