Middle of Nowhere is a game with a beautiful yet deceiving reality inspired by generations of survival horror games.
With Middle of Nowhere we're aiming to create an amazing, unique survival horror experience that stays with
you forever, here's some features:

Middle of Nowhere is a single player, first person survival horror game.
You will play a unique, story-driven game and encounter various creatures.
The game will be developed in the Unity engine for PC (Windows).
The game will be distributed digitally(Possibly from Steam and other similar options).

Here's a brief summary of our story:

Dr. Aleister Newman receives a letter seeking his aid. A young girl has fallen ill in a small town in North America.
Scared for a her safety and curious about her condition, he offers his expert assistance...

Aleister never returns, and soon after, is declared missing. His brother, Isaac Newman decides to travel to the
town in search of answers, but what he encounters is a place filled with horrors that far exceed the confines of
reality. His sanity is tested as he ventures further into the middle of nowhere and unravels the mystery of his
brothers' disappearance.

Middle of Nowhere is based in a beautiful, yet troubled North American town in the year 2020.

Brave the fog, explore hidden shacks, trek through dense forestry, journey into the catacombs, tread the
swampy waters, search abandoned schools, churches and farms...

As you'll discover... this is no ordinary town.

ISAAC NEWMAN
A broken man with little self regard. He was once a man of faith, but ever since his wife and child were killed in
a fatal car crash he has lost his way.

ALEISTER NEWMAN
Brother and polar opposite of Isaac. He's a highly skilled and sought after doctor and finds pleasure
in helping the needy.

EMILY CROWLEY
A young North American girl. She is the reason why Dr. Aleister Newman traveled to the town.

STITCHES
What was once human is now a deformed nightmare.
Stitches is an unforgiving organism that screams in agony as it stumbles towards you and tries to tear you apart.

CREEPER
Found lurking in the depths of the catacombs. Creeper is a genetic mutation that waits silently in the darkness.
Stumble into her web, into her territory, and you may never escape.

SCREAMING NURSE
Crazed, mutilated and decayed. The Screaming Nurse is far from dead and has only one thing on her mind,
to inject you with her syringe.

Middle of Nowhere will have a strong emphasis on story, survival, puzzles and horror. We are creating a beautiful
world ready for you to discover.

In the beginning, you'll start with nothing and have the opportunity to explore and find a number of different
items. As you venture into Middle of Nowhere you'll have a number of survival elements to consider like
building fires and building shelter to recover your health. There will be various different puzzles to solve, some
simple and some hard. Rooms that you enter showing you the true essence of this game in its element; horror.
Combat will be just as important as running away. Weapons being either very expensive or very hard to find and
as you progress you can even progress some skills such as run-speed.

Don't just take our word for it, try it out yourself. We've taken the time out to make a demo especially for Kickstarter
cram packing many of these different elements into 1 compact level. We wanted you all to feel safe with what your
buying into so the goal of this demo is to try everything out while solving the puzzle of finding 4 parts in order to
build a bridge. The demo has the option to try out skills, some work in progress combat, guns, a puzzle and to see and feel the
world we've created. Nothing here is final and we would love to get your feedback on features you would
like to see in the game. Have fun! (PC only).

Kickstarter Funding Unsuccessful - What Next?

Hey everyone,

Unfortunately as you can see we didn't make our funding goal for Middle of Nowhere. We apologize for not updating along the way, we planned to but sadly when we reached about 2 weeks in, we could see that the project had a high chance of failing. We thought we would let it go to the end to be good sports about the whole thing but the reason we knew it had a high chance of failing is because we had a tremendous view count for the money we was asking for, lots of YouTubers helping spread the word, steam greenlight 50% of the way done, tons of press and lots of traffic but within the huge traffic only a small amount of people backed the project and this is where we thought we need to really sit and think about our strategy and concept for the game because we are listening to the fact not many people backed it which means its just something people dont want that much.

So what do we plan to do next? We do aim to return to Kickstarter in the future however before we do so, we aim to really go serious with the game and cut no corners. We will have a very important and in depth design document, structured and finished with a new concept before we go into development of the game and when we return, we hope to bring something new to the genre.
