Player's choices and calculations matter: Game narrative is driven by how the player interacts with the town of Peridot.
Choices involve tradeoffs: No decision leads to a perfect outcome, only closer to what the player wants.
Multiple paths to better or worse endings: Some endings may be more preferable and can be arrived at through many different routes.

Game Features
Complex (and fun) personality system: Players will balance between 6 personality traits: Aggression, Adeptness, Compassion, Courage, Willfulness, and Cleverness.
Conflict resolution through dialoged: Honing personality, affinity, rapport, and consensus, rather than iron and steel.
Unique genera: Mayor of Peridot is a leadership simulation, RPG, adventure game.
Story, story, and story: The warning tree warns of dialog trees, however, Mayor of Peridot is a forest.
