MagNets: An intense arcade-style robot-recycling collect-em-up! Players must fight to restore order in Polarity City, one arena at a time. Do this by capturing enemies in your Electromagnetic Nets (or ‘MagNets’), and Recycling them into tools to complete the level, or powerups to survive their attacks!
MagNets is now available on Steam!
The key to the game is, of course, the MagNet. The MagNet is the main tool in your arsenal for destroying pesky bots.
Press the MagNet button and then move away to form a circular MagNet. Release the MagNet button, and any bots caught in that area will be zapped. Some bots take more than one zap to be destroyed; once they are, they will drop Scrap, which you can take to one of the many Recycletrons dotted around the city. The Recycletrons know exactly what you need in return: perhaps a replacement fuse, perhaps a switch, or something more complicated... or a quick powerup for your hour of need! Find where you need to put your gifts from the Recycletron, and the level will be complete!
Beware, though; your MagNet will only stretch so far. Once it reaches full width, it will deploy automatically, but it takes more time to recharge... and for you score-watchers, the smaller the MagNet area, the bigger the points!
Things have been quiet a while, but we can now announce that MagNets has been approved by Microsoft and will be available on the XboxOne in early March.
We've taken our time and turned MagNets from a Unity4 game into "MagNets: Fully Charged" running at 1080p 60fps on the lovely Unity5.
Boy it took it's time, but it was worth it. We've learnt a lot by doing it and it's really taught us a lot into how to make fast running Unity games. Everything we learnt doing this has gone into our second XboxOne game, which we will be announcing very soon.
We really hope you like it. More news to follow soon on the launch.
