Very nice, i hope you find a way to "fix" that, otherwise the game development would come to a halt with such a major problem. But i'm sure you will do it, i mean you basically show us more awesome stuff every day :P

PS Do we get that gun in game when it's released :D ?

I believe that the actual "Model" (not the proxy) has to be rendered as a "multiple parts" thing, so if it breaks in some point, the proxy will tell the model to "separate" that part.
is my idea of a solution, maybe not good at all D:

Description

Showing how multiple models can all be connected to a single entity by using multiple physical proxies. This allows for much more complex and dynamic shapes along with better ability to have mass distributed in a realistic manner on the vessels.
