Howdy!
Here in America, November is a month where we think about things we are thankful for. Whether it’s remembering the sacrifice of its armed services members on Veteran’s Day (known elsewhere as Armistice Day) or Thanksgiving Day itself, November is for reflection on the good things we have.
In addition to family, friends, health and home, I’m personally thankful for the 2 Pence Studio team and its supporters. November was a special month for 2 Pence as everything for the Feudums Map Creator finally fell into place and we could release it. As you know, the Map Creator allows players to create maps which can be used once the game is fully finished. This Map Creator is the first of several builds which will show up during December leading down the road to a full, playable game.
In addition to the Map Creator milestone and all the developer work that went into it, the Feudums team finalized some important art pieces and music and is very close to finalizing the graphic assets going into the official website.
Speaking of the website, while we wait for its elements to come together, we created a temporary landing page for our players so they had an easy spot to download the latest version after the Map Creator’s release. Once the new official website is up and running, we’ll be able to open a new dynamic for our community with forums for communication between us as well as have a single collection spot for our social media posts and articles written by us and about us. We will also have a shop where you can pledge some support to us or get some Feudums gear.
So all-in-all, November’s work was a continuation of the previous month, but ended in a spectacular flourish. And December promises more of the same.
Feudums Management, the basic economics of the game world, is coming up next. With this build, a player will actually be able to plant crops, gather wood, and generally interact with an actual feudum. A player will finally be able to call themselves a Lord or Lady. And the best part, each successive build after it will continue to build upon the previous to flesh out the game world. So, we’re excited. This fascinating road trip is drawing closer to the last stop.
We were hoping to have the majority of builds completed before the holiday season at the end of the month could delay us, but alas, that won’t be the case. Our work will stretch into January. Even our Kickstarter campaign will probably be after the holidays to allow our team and community to focus on family. Because in the end, family is most important – whether it’s by blood or by marriage or even if it is a family of virtual strangers united in common cause to see a great game published. Happy Holidays to my Feudums Family!
