Hello everyone!
In this update we have a few GIFs to show you of the cool shaders our developer draknith has been working on.
Shaders are new to us so this was a good learning experience to find out how to get the results you want and to realise just how powerful they can be. Most games these days make use of shaders. A good example that most people will have seen/heard of is the blue zone in most battle royale games. They're effectively a big sphere with a shader on them.
Our game 'Dummy Run' features many customisations at the moment with plenty more to be added in the near future, but we wanted a way to make some of them feel that little bit better and the use of shaders is a great way to go about this.
A good example of a game that uses lots of shaders in customisations is Rocket League. All the animated decals and goal explosions make use of them.
Anyway, without further ado here are some of the shaders we have been working on.
Dissolve Shader - Potentially used for culling the dead characters.
Inflate Shader - Playing about with some ideas.
Skin Hue Shader - This gives some of the skins an extra cool feeling we were looking for!
Let us know what you think!
Thanks for reading,
