Porting the game

News 1 comment

Due to Linux being so open-source and free I can easily install Lubuntu (the most lightweight distro of Ubuntu) and develop the game on that. OS X and Android support could be possible, however I don't own anything that can run either of those OSes so until then those will be on the shelf.

Keep in mind this game is not dead and you can still get more frequent updates at Youtube.com.

One little bug I noticed is that if you get a game over on the first level the controls are explained again.

Well I have no experience in making games myself so I can only comment as a player but I think this has the potential of being a very cute, fun&entertaining game. Here are the things I have noticed so far..
The first couple of times I played there was music in the background( I actually very much enjoyed your selections, usually I turn off game music and play something of my own that seems to fit my mood or play-style better but yours went along with it perfectly), however after the first two play-throughs the music wasn't there anymore and was replaced with the sounds of birds chirping.
I went into the settings at the Start-screen and tried to select the "music on" button but it didn't seem to change things/the music never came back except for the transition piece that plays when you are moving into the next screen/level(which btw I think is perfect and shouldn't be changed, it fits that action really well.)
I like all of the backgrounds very much except for the "blue swirly" one that you hadn't really been sure of either. The ice trap concept was really cool and I died a couple of times trying to figure out what to do but when I did I thought it was a clever idea and I like the little tinkly-magic frozen sound effect that happens when you're jumping out of it. The only other thing I would add is that the controls would have a lot smoother/easier feel if the spacebar was used to jump instead of the up arrow key.
I can't wait for the next version to come out, I really look forward to playing more of this. Thanks for making/sharing it. :)
