Srututu-Forgotten Foe
Role PlayingBoard game sounds like a boring static game where the die results are more important than player skills. But .. Are you sure? The board may be a reflection...
I'm a fan of JRPG games since I can't remember. They have every "ingredient" for a wonderful gaming experience: beautiful and involving main story, interesting characters and last but not least, the battle system. As time passed by I got more and more obsessed with the battle system. Most of the JRPGs that I have played had a dumb A.I which made the battles easy and predictable. As a (casual) chess player I always wanted to bring the concept of chess to the JRPG world. What do I mean by that? A JRPG game with no main story, no overworld map, no weapon upgrades and no other RPG-ish stuff. In other words, a short and (possibly) hard game where the only thing you do is "BATTLE". And this dream of mine remained so until the day I stumbled on a wonderful piece of software called RPG Maker MV, and so my idea of a battle-driven JRPG started coming to life.
This a project that I have been working for a couple of months now and to be honest, I thought that creating this type of RPG game would be easy, but I was wrong. Creating interesting and powerful enemies, and then balancing the combat system was no easy task. During this period I playtested the game several times a day and the results (according to my opinion) were mixed. Sometimes the game felt too easy and other times too hard. My enthusiasm began to fade and I was feeling lost. I desperately needed somebody else opinion and this website is the perfect place to get it.
FEATURES:
The game can be played only in browser (HTML5 vers.) in the following link:
Rpg-itch-studio.itch.io
I will add a downloadable Windows version in a time to come, after I get some reviews.
