Anathema is an action-adventure platformer game that follows Aurora Delacroix, a young woman who has inherited the divine powers of the Angel of Death. Featuring retro inspired pre-rendered sprites in HD with polished gameplay, high-quality orchestral score, voice acting and more. Anathema follows in the same vein of classic platformers such as Castlevania, Ninja Gaiden, Mega Man and Ghosts 'n Goblins.

While we are still hard at work on the upcoming demo, we wanted to share a piece of art for what is soon to come. This art features a new costume for our main character that you will see soon and we really dig the overall vibe of the art. Check out this artwork below from Pyroklastic Games! In regards to the demo, it is coming along very nicely. It is taking a bit longer than anticipated as we want to really add lots of polish to it and are allotting more content for the demo than we originally anticipated. We want you all to do more than get a small taste of what is to come. There will be some new things uploaded soon such as new videos and screenshots. A lot has changed since the screenshots and videos you see now. We've created a new, tighter HUD, a brand new look for our main character and we have completely re-rendered all graphics to take advantage of some of the latest techniques in 3D rendering.

I personally want to take the time to apologize for the delays. When we were greenlit back in May, I completely recoded the entire engine to allow for more efficiency so that the game will play better on more PCs. Then, new techniques in 3D rendering came our way, so then I began completely re-rendering EVERYTHING. I also took the time to create better looking enemies, outfits, backdrops...everything. It has been a complete overhaul to improve everything graphically and code-wise so that you have the best experience possible. Even the music has been upgraded to some of the best quality samples we can afford. But rest assured, the core gameplay is still the same - classic Castlevania-esque action-platforming at its heart. Look for all the whip-swinging, demon-hunting, vampire-slaying action to be playable very soon...I promise. :)
