Ever wonder what lurks at the bottom of a cup you've left on the side for 3 weeks and haven't washed up yet? What strange world has evolved and grown in there at that microscopic level?

In this episodic 2D Puzzle-Platformer, you take on brain bending challenges by cloning your Algae and morphing them into new and exciting tools, all in a bid to escape! With four difficulty levels (including the aptly named 'Impossible' difficulty) master your skills and free as many Algae as possible.

In Episode 1 experience the microscopic world of the beaker and navigate enemies that will stop at nothing to prevent Algae from reaching their goal. Subsequent episode will take Algae on bigger journeys and onwards to larger worlds, including bonus levels and new exciting personalities and skins.

Algae - A 2D Puzzle Platformer by Purple Kingdom Games!

Purple Kingdom Games has announced its debut game will be 'Algae', available on Windows and macOS.

Ever wonder what lurks at the bottom of a cup you've left on the side for 3 weeks and haven't washed up yet? What strange world has evolved and grown in there at that microscopic level?

Algae takes you into such a world - A beaker left to fester has created a sentient Algae, and it's intent on using all of itself to find a way out!

In this episodic 2D Puzzle-Platformer, players take on brain bending challenges by cloning their Algae and morphing them into new and exciting tools, all in a bid to escape! With four difficulty levels (including the aptly named 'Impossible' difficulty) they will master their skill and free as many Algae as possible.

The first Episode will be available on Steam on 21st August 2018, with subsequent episodes being released early next year.

And Introducing: Community Rewards!

What better way to celebrate our debut launch than with free stuff! Here's how it works:

  1. People unlock achievements by working together towards a goal (like 1,000 followers of @purple_herald or posting pictures of Algae in a beaker).
  2. When enough achievements are unlocked we give rewards away to everyone for free!

The more achievements people unlock, the better the rewards... everyone's a winner!
