AidTech is 2D sci-fi action adventure with focus on the story. Main elements of this game are your decisions – with them you influence the game. So your decisions will matter. You use teleportation, laser weapons and energetic shields to your advantage. You will come through research complexes, space ships, and remains of civilization scattered in the universe to save what is most important for you.

Our first developer logs is about teleporting, dialogs and GUI.

When you come to NPC, GUI controls will show that you can talk with him. By pressing E you get to the dialog. This works the same like in other adventure games, but you can get karma for you decisions in dialogs. Karma change will appear in the left corner. Karma can affect your quests and reactions of Npc’s.

For these dialogs I have programmed my own dialog system, which is multilingual and you create dialogs in node editor. You can make questions, statements and sendmessages, but the options are unlimited.

Here is and screen from basic room.

In the left corner you can see Gui for life and energy. You have only 2 lives, this means that you need to be very careful in our game.

The next is energy. Energy is recharging as you use it. You can use it for shooting lasers, making energy shields and to teleport. We have two types of teleports – quick and slow.

Quick teleport will get you only forward, but really fast. You can use it for escape from enemies.

With slow teleport you can choose your teleport destionation within radius. You have more control over it and it is best for solving puzzles and getting to secret places.

You can look forward to many other developer logs, which will be coming soon. It will be about examining things in game.
