We're back with an update to answer yet another common question: what animals are we going to see make it into Farm Folks?
Big plans are in store for the animals of Farm Folks, with 43 animals already in our backlog with literally dozens upon dozens of suggestions coming in from our fans, you'll have more animal choices than you could shake a chicken at!
Animals are an important part of any world, giving the land life and personality. Plus, they're just dang cute! The animals and critters of Farm Folks are a big part of our game, and we want to make sure that the player feels a strong bond with their pets and livestock.
The most common animals people think of for farming are cows and chickens. We made sure to give these staple animals as much personality and creativity as they deserve. Don't worry though, our chickens won't wake you up at dawn!
Sheep are another important staple of ranching. These peaceful critters will spend most of their day grazing in the pasture while waiting for their fluffy coats to grow back. Alongside your flocks of sheep will be the Stagoats, horned goats with a lot of mischief and personality. They produce milk to the brave farmer who can avoid getting a boop on the head from their horns.
Of course, traditional animals aren't the only ones on our list. We love the creative and the unique, here at Farm Folks. Fishing is an option to those who enjoy relaxing on a riverbank on on the beach, but the many different local fish of Softshoal are a little...different from normal fish. Wow those are big eyes!
There is a legend on Softshoal as well, about a graceful, magical beast that may appear in the fields and forests of the island. This beast is said to focus a magical energy through a singular horn atop its head. Kickstarter backers of the Plushmaster tier will unlock the secrets to finding mysterious beast.
