Since this will be based off of the Quake Engine, just use a Modified GoldSource Engine.

The Quake Engine is 8-Bit, but the GoldSource Engine is part 16-Bit and part 32-Bit, and the PSP is capable of both of those.

Fact: The GoldSource Engine, based off of the Quake 1 Engine and developed to be seperate, was once updated with a few lines of code from the Quake 2 Engine to fix some bugs.

Fact: Once I was playing Half-Life (the Steam Version), and I had the Quake 2 CD in my laptop and it started playing Quake 2 music when I pick-up up the HEV Suit.

Well, a half life mod was converted to a simple DS version, so it is possible.
