After a couple of week of PSX/PS2-era Armored Core marathon, I feel obliged to make this; a simple mission which is a semi-recreation of the last 3 encounters with Nine-Ball in AC:Master of Arena (I've done my best to keep spoilers at minimum but your spoiler may vary) with mostly vanilla VT contents, along with a surprise™. Installation: extract to the root \VectorThrust folder. Known issue: enemies still use random taunt voices, may take some time to fix since I'm still figuring how to set unit voice to none.
Ah the good ol'days.
When Mech Combat was a mech combat.
Remember taking down 9 ball with with my quadnlegged AC with Chaingun Dakka.
new Comment:
Frakken awesome. Made me miss my Karasawa rifle and my Plus Membership with Back cannon operation skill.
Actually I could've "modify" the MiG-35 model to make it at least look like Nine-Ball Seraph (i.e giving it a couple of booster which also make it somewhat resembles VF-25Super too) but VT still doesn't have mechanics to allow more than 3 weapons at a time or unit built-in weapon that isn't gun so maybe next time.
i Would love to have 3 or more weapons. I would love to make A-10C into ground destroyer.
This is all I'll say about the mission, you either need to be one of the best VT players around or you need a super aircraft with a super weapon in order to beat this mission. Well done, you didn't make it easy to beat it and that made it fun.
I beat it with F-14D. I always play Ace Combat on Ace so i kinda expect to be blown out of the sky by 1 missile.
Speed is the essence and key in victory.
Now im taking J-35 to beat the mission.
Did the same thing with the F-15C but met with different results. Started to get annoyed and used the F-59A with its R-60S SPAM missiles and even that didn't work. Another key is never get into a close dogfight or you will lose.
Not really.
Remember to turn off AOA limiter, pull a Cobra and blast the 9-ball in 2 with dual M-55 ADEN cannons.
Thats how I eliminated them.
The first nine-balls are susceptible against XM/LAAs so always play it from long range.
Also the final Nine-Ball has no countermeasure at all, although I admit I gave it way too many HP (let's just say, AC-level armor point).
Semi-Active missiles are very effective here. The increased range and accuracy lets you play keep away and avoid eating a missile spam.
I have to say,at first I dont notice what the mission for until I heard that“people who have power……”,'cuz I was playing Japanese version at that time and I haven't noticed this is Nine Ball.
Now we just need a wannabe Final Pulverizer in an enclosed area.
Holy ****, that'd be amazing.
Although I can only imagine me bringing out QAAMs and blasting it to bits - already, bazookas beat up quite bad.
Or perhaps AC3's final mission.
Or maybe versus red Phantasma that actually moves AND FLIES. AND FIRES DUBSTEP BULLET HELL PATTERN AT YOU. ALL IN A MAP THAT GLOWS AS IT'S INSIDE A NIGHTCLUB.
(too bad I've tried converting the Leviathan to VT but it always crashes for unknown reason, should it work the massive combining MT from AC3 and massive flying MT from ACSL may be the next, and maybe I'll try recreating ACLR's "Launch Preempetive Strike"/Leviathan mission)
Oh, and maybe once someone makes a guide how to make an in-game cutscene, I'll update the mission with you-know-that scene it sorely lacks in here. And a proper way to change map since the last time I tried it always crashes the game instead.
