Dear Community,
We are back with another media release, and this time it's all about the things that go BANG!
Tactical Assault is now at the stage where we need Experienced Weapon Animators with UDK knowledge!
We have been very busy the last few months concentrating on creating weapons, characters, and maps for our new shiny media page which has just gone live! Direct link: Tactical-assault.com
You have to agree, Macfrog has done a great job here and it's a huge improvement over our old media page. Now most of the weapons are still a work in progress, however Matt Lefevere has done a great job in rendering our handful of approved weapons in a UDK Scene. No, these are not in 3ds Max, Marmoset, or touched up in Photoshop.
These are all INGAME Screenshots!
Further details can be found on our media page, including all the geeky specs to give you a head start on the battlefield!
(Please note, specs and details may change on the fly without notification, depending on further weapon balancing and play testing.)

We hope you enjoyed checking out these beautiful weapons. In order to speed up development of Tactical Assault, we would like to offer eager game animators the opportunity to animate these weapons. This is a great chance for talented animators to build their portfolios by working on a fantastic project.
These weapons are already:
- modelled
- textured
- packaged in UDK
No screwing around required, they simply await your itchy fingers to bring them to life.
Essential Requirements
- Experience importing and exporting into UDK using the ActorX plugin (Max 2010 + 2011 supported only)
- Experience working on a Biped Rig
- Proven experience and making clean and quality weapon animations (with good tight grips and non-robotic movement)
- Can produce a variety of Animations, such as Idles, SwitchtoFireModes, Reloading actions, etc.
- Able to produce one set of animations for one weapon per week on average.
- Frequently active and very communicative on skype, working closely with our art director and coder.
If you fit the bill, dont wait around...apply today at: Tactical-assault.com
More weapons are coming soon! In fact, 14 weapons are provisionally approved and are just going through our render process, being tweaked and tidied up before final approval.
Progress on Tactical Assault is moving fast, so spread the word and stay tuned for the next wave of weapons soon!
Best regards,
Your TA Team

Agreed but damn...I love the knife. The texture is amazing.
I mostly agree, but the blade could use some work sadly.
And there's something about the normal map on the MP5 that seems off.
