A new update with 7 new cards making up a new playable archetype.

As always, this update is live now and can be played for free in browser at Isochronalgames.itch.io. Updates like this will be coming out every week, so please follow if you're interested in seeing future updates!

A bit of a different update this week - no new fight (the next one needs some UI changes so is taking a little longer). Instead this one focuses on a new player archetype.

-Changed the Grappled status so that battlers are defeated when they have more stacks of Grappled than current HP

-Added 7 new grapple based cards

As a refresher, Grappled is a status that links two battlers together and prevents them both from dodging. One member of the pair is in control (and actually gets the "Grappling" status), and while they still cannot dodge they are not defeated if the grapple exceeds their health. Grappled is removed by damaging the grappler, which removes one stack for every point of damage.

Grab replaces Jab in the starting deck, so that you always have a way to apply Grapple. I wanted to allow people to take the later pay off cards without needing to find a source of grapple first, but if you don't want to go into grappling it should still be a useful way to stop enemies like the ninja from dodging.

The most basic Grappled applier - simply applies 8.

A parry card that applies Grappled instead of doing damage - currently it's the only way to apply Grappled to enemies not in the front line, which is an interesting niche since they will often have lower health and tend to dodge more.

A card that allows you to apply Grappled while defending - very useful for protecting your current stacks while applying more.

Adds 1 and then doubles the current Grappled on your target. It also applies 1 to the front enemy if you don't have anyone Grappled yet, so it's not useless if you don't have any current stacks.

Blocks for 8 damage, but only if you have someone Grappled. However, it also redirects that 8 damage to the Grapplee, which can be very powerful.

Deals damage equal to two times your stacks of Grappled on your Graplee, but then releases them. A classic payoff/finisher card for the archetype.

The balance has been a little tricky on this, so if you have any thoughts please leave them in the comments below!

In development - The next robot fight, and also a new shop option I have planned.
