if you replace the one with the blue wolf, it also fixes another crash in the menu. Other than that I cannot crash in 0.8.7 and have played 100's of hours. There might be a problem with higher AI's (not considering items or nature spell) but that is something I am trying to catch for years now.

The game is balanced, it's just the AI (Prince +) could have some more work and become harder or take less time to attack like in vanilla.

The Ai should cheat more at higher levels, for now a grd. Emperor can be destroyed if you are fast enough and it is not set only against the player. It's getting there with time and testing I think.

Not to mention that spellcasters can attack from a distance too with the magery stuff (I usually change weapons when necessary and my summoner level 30 kills enormous amounts of units with random items!).

You get more two generals from Infernal temple and another two from celestial: The units' combo change between the race you play. Same thing for the Prison and the Mystic Tower.

Temples need not to be spawned inside bases - just needs a little more work imo (maybe only spawn under a certain area in the middle of the map, so all sides can strive for it in competition - random maps should perhaps behave like Joe's maps, with temples, shops, quest buildings and lairs at same distance between all players, or close to that).

That might be very specific of you. You never needed to use Fn. This is a 1999 feature. So most people would be using f1-10 normally.
You open the spell book, hover the spell you want and click f1.
Now whenever you want to cast that spell in the mid of the battle, just press f1 and the spell will cast. That is a hotkey and there are tons of that in the game for building and open windows, quaff potions and so on.

if you simply press f1, it is faster than opening the spellbook all the time you want to cast that spell. The panel spells on the right are f1 buttons. So it is either up for you to press f1, open the spellbook or press in the panel. Whatever you like (I personally never use the panel because promotes micromanagment, but can see that people would be annoyed with it, like Travis Jr over there).

I would see the panel using ctrl-1 instead (army groups), not sure if that would make any diference on the issue said. or even remove spell functionalities and replace them with the group bar. That would gain some room and would make the panel smaller.

I'm not sure what is wrong at his end, because I've got WBC1 (1999 version), WBC3 1.03, TPC 0.8.6, TPC 0.8.7 dev (experimental), TPC 0.8.7 (this one, the public version) and current development version. All of them work just fine in win 10 and 7.

I have also 0.8.7 and 0.8.6 in a very old pc with 1024 res and both work with win xp. So... Bad installation maybe?

F9 is bugged only in win 10 (try play WBC1 on win 10 and it will not work). In TPC will cause a crash, so for now it is disabled. You can still print-screen.

Are you sure you installed this? also are you sure you deleted your old my documents/TheProtectors folder?

Are you running the exe in compatibility and admin?

Mostly to do with spectral horde (the only temporary units in the game as long as spectral dragons/dragonfear spell), call of aranea and the likes. A very specific combo I would say.

This was also to showcase summoned buildings (such as guardians, eggs and summoned via quests): they are temporary and now you can see their timer.

and you still have to play it with 0.8.7. Even better.
