This is appearing a bit too dark for me, personally. It could just be monitor settings or the color profile that you are using. I think the darkness is hiding some of the interesting detail in the foreground. But besides that, you did a great job with altering the overall atmosphere. Clouds, lightening, rain, and overall lighting look very convincing. I especially like the lighter outline that you added to the roof; to simulate rain splash and differentiate it from the dark sky behind it. Well done.
@boman: Yeah, it's a photoshop painting. Standard round brushes and some custom texture brushes for the grass, clouds and water.
iQew: Thank you for the thorough critique. Where are you learning this stuff? I'd like to read what you're reading. Yeah, I can see what you are saying with not having a selling-point. I'll keep that in mind in the future. Same with the rocks being a distraction, and the lack of human scale. Greatly appreciate your comments.

@ KazakHD5660: awesome, thanks for the tip; that sounds like a good way to go. If the devs can't find time to address this issue, I'll just roll up my sleeves and tweak the sounds myself. : )
Just watched the video; you guys are doing great things with this mod. One thing that bugs me though is the volume of the background sounds. Birds, gunfire, weather, thunder, breathing, dogs, voices and footsteps are all at the same volume level. When there are 3 or more of these playing at once, it's very confusing, and creates a cluttered, annoying, claustrophobic feeling when playing. I realize that this was a problem with the original stalker as well; but If there are going to be a dynamic, enjoyable soundscape, then there needs to be some kind of order and hierarchy. It would be great if you guys could implement a system that would allow atmospheric noises to fade at a distance, and not be louder than more dominant sounds like voices, gunfire, music, etc.

Thanks for the words of encouragement, Steve. Having the support of the fans means a lot to the team. We realize that switching engines is a major shift, but we wouldn't have put Raindrop in jeopardy if we thought that we weren't capable of meeting these new challenges and surpassing them. It's more work, but we feel that the end result will be something vastly superior to the original game.

I noticed that you used my amateur stalker skins. I'm glad that they found a home with such an awesome mod. They were originally created for SOC, and I noticed that some areas of the skin aren't covering the COP model correctly. I'd be happy to tweak it and fix that annoying black region of the shirt; if you'd like.
@ BobsBarricades - We have every intention of keeping the community informed of the game's progress. If we decide to use another website to showcase the game, we'll definitely give everyone at moddb a heads up.
@xscottx019 Maps are getting transfered over to the new engine. We haven't lost any content, it's just getting tweaked.
