Power Level Studios creates old-school style RPGs for newer generations of consoles and PC.

So… Let’s talk about July. And what the heck went on.

Okay, first things first: We hope you guys aren’t having an Ughgust and that this month started great for everyone! We’re in the third quarter already, imagine that… We also hope you guys blasted through July stronger than the months before that.

Well, as for Power Level Studios… We had fun creating eight new monsters!

Before I give you a sneak peek of these creatures though, let’s take a look at some of the stuff we had a great time accomplishing last month:

Would you look at that rice terraces-like island!

I (Dax here) was amazed myself at this awesome piece of art, because… Well, I was somewhere “nomadizing” and marveling at actual rice terraces right before I posted the map above via Instagram.

Here’s a shot of the terraces I was like a kid whooping around in:

Comparable, yeah?

Oh yeah, by the way guys. If you ever visit Indonesia, you gotta try one of the swings at Cekingan. It has forever changed the way I look at swings:

S’winging it like a pro (haha)

Back to normal programming…

So, as mentioned above, we worked on a few new monster creations. We got eight done. But for the sake of giving you something to look forward to (and more reason to keep reaping and unreaping), we’ll give you a preview of just three (sorry).

Here they are:

This is aptly named the “Cute Dark Creature”. Honestly, I think cute and dark is the perfect combination. What do you guys think?

This “Wormhole” is another personal favorite… Well, because all those symbols make me think of wizards and magi and incantations… You get the gist.

Honestly, I’m 101% scared of clowns… But that’s all the more reason I’d want Soul Reaper to command his cronies to reap and unreap this guy’s soul, right?

We also have a few other things we’ve started working on last month. Hopefully, we get them out this August.

Here’s a couple of them:

We call this the “Ningeon”. Wanna hazard a guess why?

We’ll keep this dude’s name confidential in the meantime… Feel free to use your imagination though (haha).

That’s about it for July! I hope you had as much fun reading as I had creating this post.

Worry not, as the PLS team is currently working on getting more maps, levels, and characters done this August. So, we hope you’ll keep supporting us!

In the meantime, you can keep yourself in the loop through our social media accounts. Of course, you’re more than welcome to hit that “FOLLOW” button!

Until the next update then. Have an amazing August, everyone!

Halfway through 2018, what have we been doing?

First off: Happy July to you all, fellow reapers and unreapers! We’re nearly in July’s second half, and we hope everyone started off this month strong.

So… What have we been doing on our end?

Well, if you remember (and hopefully, you took advantage of it), we launched a promotional offer on Soul Reaper: Unreap Commander a few weeks ago. We’re working on more strategies to make it more accessible, so we hope you guys will stay tuned to hear all about them.

Did you guys hit that “Add to Cart” button with much gusto? We hope you did!

Next up, we’re proud to present the newest line up of monsters! We have several, but here’s a sneak peak for one of them:

We’ll keep this creature unnamed in the meantime…

Our talented artists are also working on maps and levels, like this one:

How’s that for a much-needed getaway?

We’ve got more lined up this month, and hopefully, something as major as last month’s 0.0.11 update will come your way!

In the meantime, check out the latest updates we have on our Instagram account (you’re more than welcome to follow us!):

FOLLOW US OR YOU KNOW THIS LITTLE FELLA WILL FOLLOW YOU, BWAHAHA!

That’s it for now, folks! We’ll keep you posted in the following weeks for updates and changes, so stay tuned! We here at Power Level Studios hope for your continued support, and again, we wish everyone an amazing July!

Not two, not three, but four updates! That's what!

First off: We have an ongoing deal!

25% off when you get Soul Reaper: Unreap Commander now! There's no such thing as forever, so make sure you lay your hands on a copy now before the promo ends!

1

Just hit that "Add to Cart" button and we'll take your money, thank you very much!

Second: We released Soul Reaper: Unreap Commander version 0.0.10!

With this update, fellow reapers can now come face to face with the most badass banana they've ever met! And of course, scythe the soul out of these Badnanas!

2

Version 0.0.10 also came out with another incredibly cute monster (or group of them anyway): The Zookas! Just look at how impressive their lifting power is:

3

These are just two of the features that came out with the major 0.0.10 update. Check out the rest of what's included in this post.

Third: The Unreapedia!

4

Yep, Soul Reaper is that smart he has his own book of knowledge!

Here's the textbook definition of The Unreapedia:

"The 'Pokedex' of Soul Reaper: Unreap Commander."

Just click the link above and you'll learn everything else you need to!

And last but not the least:

Soul Reaper: Unreap Commander Version 0.0.11!

We just released this several hours ago, and here's a quick list of what you can expect:

1. Easier and much doper soul collection process.
2. More ways to train up your team.
3. Farm specific souls in a simplified manner - just select training options directly from the Unreapedia.
4. An addition to our growing list of badass monsters: The Pirate Ship!
5. Not one, not two, but 6 new feats!
6. You can also save the Mute setting now, plus enjoy improved combat speed!

Here's a quick preview of the Unreapedia that comes with this version:

And here's another still from the Unreapedia menu:

5

I think this sums up what we've done since our first June update. Everyone from the Power Level Studios is chipping in to make the game better, so we hope that you guys will continue gracing us with your support!

Until the next update then, reapers! Happy unreaping!

0.0.11 is LIVE and 25% off until Friday June 22nd!

Here’s a really quick preview:

What’s New in 0.0.11?

Unreapedia

The Unreapedia is the “Pokedex” of Soul Reaper: Unreap Commander.

You can see your progress on your Soul Collection. It’s a nice way to figure out which Souls you have left to reap. But it also provides you with new ways to farm specific souls.

When you select an Unreap from the left, you see its details on the right, along with training options at the bottom. Clicking on the option selects the squad and goes back to the main screen so you can start combat from there.

Pirate Ship (Name TBD)

The Pirate Ship deals water damage to COLUMN targets.

Now, I know what you question is:

“Are the people/monsters controlling the ship like, super tiny?”

I have no clue. The point is, it’s a badass ship!

Saving Settings

Two settings are now saved properly:

  • Mute/Unmute
  • Combat speed

1 New Training Option6 New Feats and Steam Achievements

Download Soul Reaper: Unreap Commander 0.0.11

If you don’t own the game yet, get it now! It’s better than ever!

It’s also even better by the fact that it’s 25% off until June 22nd!

This is not a replay. I repeat, not a replay.

Haha, just in case you guys thought we made a mistake on reposting the previous May month-end recap again by mistake, we didn’t!

We just thought it’d be nice to keep you guys updated of what happened between the time we rolled that update out and today.

After all, it’s because of you fellow Reapers that we’re keeping at it to curate insatiable gameplay content!

So… Here’s a photo for some quick look back of good months gone:

So what have we accomplished in the last few days?

In the May recap we posted a few days ago, we showed several sketches of an NPC under dev. From those amazing sketches of Vanni, Matt brought to life just as an amazing an animated version! Here’s a sneak peak:

I want my (future) kids to cosplay them… Haha!

At the moment, the artsy people are working on more NPCs and yep, the whole new world we mentioned in the previous post!

But since we don’t want to keep you from reaping all those souls (also, we’d like to build more suspense, sorry, haha), we’re going to show more of the updates in our next, well, update!

Hope you guys will look forward to them as much as we’re excited to share the good news!

So, until next week. Ciao! More importantly, happy reaping and have an amazing weekend!

More than 200 things happened!

Yep! You read that right.

What 200 things you ask?

First off, we have the 243 achievements that came with the most recent update we rolled out: Soul Reaper: Unreap Commander version 0.0.9!

This is great news for achievement-lovers out there, as it means more reaping and unreaping to reach them goals. And of course, it’s good news for us here at Power Level Studios too, since our aim is to make the game as enjoyable and interesting as possible.

Want a key to get to know what it feels like to reap souls? Give me your soul first. I’ll think about it. Mwahaha

Just in case you haven’t checked the game out yet, now’s the best time to! As mentioned in the Steam Page, one of the reasons for the Early Access Game has a lot to do with content and its creation.

As such, we need all the honest as-brutal-as-possible feedback we can get, and we’ll be more than appreciative of what you have to say.

Going back to the recap of version 0.0.9, the 243 new achievements weren’t the only updates. Our talented artists also boosted the monster list with five new opponents:

  1. The Ajin
  2. The Elephount
  3. The Hexawielder
  4. The Needlypuff
  5. The Manaconda

That brings us to 248 additions. But there’s even more. Version 0.0.9 also came out with the following

*New Soul Reaper Animations

*Minor UI updates

*Minor bug fixes

We also joined forces with Greenlight Arcade, so be sure to check them out for great deals!

Because y’all been good souls, here’s a 25% off!

What’s Cooking Now for Your June Serving of Soul Reaper

Mandy, one of our artists, got started on creating a whole new world packed with really interesting assets.

Here’s a sneak peek:

It’s not so secret anymore…

Our NPCs are also looking better and better with Vanni’s sketches. Lookie here and judge for yourself:

This one’s done by the way. We’ll let you know soon how amazing they turned out!

We also have loads of monster animations from Matt, which we’ll keep you up-to-date with through our regular social media posts!

And lastly, come June, we’ll prepare for the release of our Kickstarter campaign. This means creating a playable demo and a nice video to go along with it. Plus, we’re going to give out goodies once we’re ready to roll out the campaign!

So, make sure you stay tuned for all these great surprises! We’ll launch more updates in the coming days, so to stay on top of the news, feel free to join us in social media!

Unreap Commander is finally LIVE. Be sure to check it out on Steam. Here’s what the Soul Reaper himself has to say about his Unreap Commander adventure:

graf wrote: “So here’s the deal: I reap your soul, and summon you back to life as my slave. An Unreap I call you. Hope you don’t mind me doing a little brain hacking on you! But don’t worry, I arm you with epic loot before sending you off to fight imposters online. Or do I? Mwahaha!” — Soul Reaper

What I’m particularly excited about personally is to see what teams all the new players are going to build up and compete with in the leaderboards.

*100+ in full-game

I have my own personal favourites monsters I like use, and I think they’re a good team, but I can’t wait to see what you guys come up with.

We’re in our second week of 2018, and the holiday glee may already be wearing of. So, here’s a tidbit for you fellow Reapers that may just make your blood pumping again:

The Soul Reaper: Unreap Commander Alpha Version is out (download it here) now! The PLS development team wasn’t just out merry-making during the holidays; everyone was busy (and still is) preparing for the release of the game’s significantly improved version.

The changes, in a nutshell

Danny talked about all the changes in his most recent Medium article, but I’ll go ahead and give you a preview of what you can expect with Alpha:

· Full-UI redesign;

· Mouse controls instead of keyboard controls;

· Slower-paced combat to make it easier to understand what is going on;

· New animations for all Unreaps;

· More Training options;

· Eased difficulty curved;

· New menu music; and

· Feats were temporarily removed from the game.

We’ve got the teaser coming out soon, which is another thing to look forward to.

A big round of applause for and much thanks to…

Taylor Wright, who gave us extremely valuable UI/UX and Major redesign inputs! You’ll see snippets of the redesign in the teaser, and in full action once you’ve downloaded and started playing the Alpha version.

In any case, we would be eternally grateful for any feedback from you, Commanders.

And one last thing before I sign off…

Let’s all have a great start this 2018, and cheers to a more fruitful indiedev year!
