Updated the Mod Profile. As you see there are images of improved Revolt Mod UO not yet release. It's in the works right now.

Resistance team is all black uniforms now, to make this look more an Axis Team.

It's a little late, but about time I fixed the recoil :)

Guest,

Remove all custom maps or mods from main folder. Such as zz_something.pk3

Keep game files such as pak1.pk3 , localized English ect.

I'm working on Merciless Mod 2 right now. Once I improve it drastically I will likely resume development of Revolt Mod Project. Once I get a really good class system working with MM2 I will backport it to Revolt Mod. So you can have odd numbers of classes ect.

Hey Guys,

The new version of Merciless Mod 2, is designed to run without the gore mod. It had bone errors from custom 3d player models not being compiled right. I found most of the errors in Merciless Mod 2 v3.4 Public Beta but would like to update it more before release. I'd like the mod to have much more features to compensate for removal of gore mod.

If anyone is interested in being a beta tester let me know. I'd like to line up some beta testers to try it out. Before just release it to public to test it.

Go to a web search like Google.com. Search for "my IP address".

Then it should display your public IP address, otherwise go to a website from the list that tells you your public IP address.

Are you sure that is right game path? Never seen that path before.

Should be something like this for Win XP:

"C:\Program Files\Activision\Call of Duty 2\CoD2MP_s.exe" +set dedicated 2 +set net_ip xx.xxx.xxx.xxx +set net_port 28960 +set fs_game merc2_pb +exec merc2ded.cfg +set sv_punkbuster 0 +map_rotate

Replace xx.xxx.xxx.xxx with your public IP address. Don't use local IP like 10.0.0.4 as only applies to your LAN network.

CoD2 works with XP/Vista/7. Might work with 8.x and doesn't work well with Windows 10.

I'm going to message PatmanSan. He's an experienced programmer who works on eXtreme+ CoD2. Maybe he can find the issue, since my computer can't host stock CoD2 or Merciless Mod 2 due to blocked ports.

Sent email to Creative Bullets. Letting them know that V3.4 Public Beta is out. Should take a few days and they'll update the server to latest mod.

Perhaps they will rise up and rebuild there clan. Unless real life gets in the way or something.

Yeah sure. PM me your ideas for new revisions. I would add in new weapons and such. But if there is anything else such as higher recoil, more weapon sway, add in a single player map ect. Let me know.

I haven't played SP in a long time but would like to make a mod for it.

Okay revised CFG is up, "Merciless Mod 2 V3.3 Revised CFG Files". Just use the merc2ded.cfg from there instead since it's got the missing line of code in it.

Made two separate CFG files one for dedicated and one for LAN. Though ether can be edited with notepad++, textpad, or whatever text editor you desire.

If anyone wants to volunteer to be a beta tester, I can send you a developmental version of V3.4. Want it to be more polished before releasing but it's getting there.

Replace 1 with 2 if you want LAN server.

For all those Hunkmegs errors, type this in console:

/com_hunkmegs 512

hit enter and restart game.

Basically the game is not allocating enough ram for verbose maps ect. This trick applies to CoD1, UO, and CoD2. Might apply to CoD4 and CoDWAW. Pretty sure CoDBO and newer allocate enough ram anyways.

Will test out the mod soon.

Shame the mod didn't get released, I had my doubts due to the amount of work it would take to pull it off.

MCh should have made a smaller mod with like 5-8 custom weapons and some sort of eXtreme+ like war effects. Perhaps three custom maps and only 2-5 developer(s).

The shear amount of work in this mod makes me wounder. Why even make a mod if you want to change the game so much? Wouldn't it be more logical to make an Unreal Engine 4 or Unity 5 game instead?

That's an odd error will look into fixing in further releases.

You could start a dedicated server with a password. Almost same thing as LAN, just the dedicated broadcasts the server on master server list.

Number 5 being the number of bots you want. You'll need the mercbots iwd (from Merciless Mod 2 V3.3 Patched) to get the bots working as well.

Keep in mind these are dumb bots and not like meatbot. They will not follow or flank you. Later on I'll see if I can make those bots fight harder.

Press X to open up Class Script Menus.

Script Menus should show up on during connection to server or map change. If not Press X.

Also you need both client and server side files. Client file merc2v3_3.iwd can be found in merc2v3_3.zip. Disregard merc2ded.cfg found in merc2v3_3.zip as it is deprecated.

ID Tech 4, is the engine used in Doom 3 and Quake 4. Although I heard Doom 3 was a great game, it's lighting system is poor. Doesn't have dynamic lighting like CryEngine or improved static lighting like UDK/UE3 or UE4. Just watch a few Doom 3 videos on Youtube and you'll see what I mean. Also Id Tech 4 is GNU-GPL which turns some game devs off. It forces people to give away content without credit or permission needed. Also you must share source code of game if it's using GNU-GPL licensed engine.

So basically using Id Tech 4 is picking an engine inferior to the one used in CoD4/CoDWaW.

If ebusian wants to take a minimal system requirements approach, he could pick Unity. It's written in C# and Javascript and cross platform (PC, Mac, iOS). Should be able to make games that work on integrated graphics, depending on how much eye candy is added.

Released in updated for Merciless Mod 2 V3.3, a revised merc2ded.cfg so now it will display in Master Server list.

If there is still a demand for a "heavy weight" Merciless Mod 2 with full gore mod. I might have two Merciless Mod 2 branches, the current V3.4 being light weight branch and heavy weight branch being one with full gore mod.

Download svr_merc2v3_3.zip alongside merc2v3_3.zip as it contains updated merc2ded.cfg. Remember gamespy settings must be enabled.

Merciless Mod 2 can run as a rifles only mod, change engineer class to 100 percent and all others 0 percent. Engineer class (now Officers) have only semi rifles and bolt rifles.

Going to send Creative Bullets an update to Merciless Mod 2 V3.4 Beta soon. It will be server side with one client file added: ammobox and medkits in one iwd.

Total Download size for clients (Merciless client + ammobox/medkits) should around 50mb, yeah that's much less then the previous V3.3 at around 136mb.

Some highlights:
*All classes including Medic can plant landmine (V + V)
*Landmines go off on stairs
*Medics can drop Medkits (V + A)
*Medics can drop Medbags (V + M)
*Support can drop Ammobox (V + A)
*Support can rearm Ammo (V + M)
*Fixed merc2ded.cfg to get mod to display in Master Server List
*Added in voice stuff into merc2ded.cfg so Creative Bullets can beta test voice activation.

Some minor issues:
*You have to move and plant landmines since they have larger distance for setting off. This was to get mines to set off on stairs.
*Still got to fix some minor HUD Icon issues
*Russians on mp_harbor acting weird, gotta fix it before sending update.
*Call Medic and Call Support tracers on Compass not working, will fix next update
*Ammoboxes too small, going to convert new ammoboxes to CoD2 soon.

Client file is the same for now (Merciless Mod 2 V3.4 Beta 3). Later when I add in Warlord Class the client gets an update. Warlords will spawn with two primary weapons, one smoke, one landmine, and one TNT. The TNT will be planted correctly now that I know how to get the origins right.

This weapon was removed in V3.3, since Mobile 30 cal is pretty much the same type of weapon class. Large clip size for heavy gunner purposes.

Removed from V3.3 due to it basically just being MP40 with wood. We already got MP44 so no need for three of them. Also ditched MP40/II (Dual Magazine)

Removed this weapon for a Mobile MG42 (V3.4) since that model looks better. This model seems too low poly. Though it was a good attempt on Torr3's part.

Updated Mod Profile to display Creative Bullets Merciless Mod 2 Test Server. it's a little buggy from gore mod removal, so if you hop on the server before Mid August be expected to find some issues. As stated in "Merciless Mod 2 Test Server" article.

Once Mid August comes most bugs will be fixed. I just don't want to partial update and leave some features half done.

The mod will become a public release later, no going to publicly release it until it's polished enough.

Bloodlust has retired from modding for now. Will call him Former Co-Developer. But will keep the door open, if he wants to return to the modding scene.

As disappointed as I am to see Bloodlust move on. This has forced me to become a better programmer and modder. Perhaps he did me a favor, now I got to sink or swim. I've done many revisions I though only a grand master like Bloodlust could do.
