Once they are done. :)
Sounds dumb but there's no real timeframe. Things are popping up that need to be adressed first every now and then so several rough timeframes weren't met.
That's why we'll just stick to "when it's ready"
It's not a file it's an entry in the .sh file.
You just open the sh file and then change the line from zombie.ZombiodLauncher to zombie.gameStates.MainScreenState
Never heard of that! Loved Nethack to bits so I had to giggle.
The graphics aren't changing to be more fancy, though. Being more fancy is just a kind of welcome side-effect.
They're really there to improve the game's performance as 3D comes with a lot of cool possibilities and gives us room for even more fancy stuff instead of being limited to what's possible with solely 2D sprites.
Yes, of course. Kate and Baldspot will return together with the implementation of NPCs
We hid some PZ info in the blogpost. Happy searching!
Thanks! I'll have a whip ready just in case.
Please post a topic for support in the Desura forum here or on our own forum:

We'll need as much info as possible (Game version, your specs - most importantly OS, CPU and GFX, error.log and output.log which you can find in the installation folder) in order to help you.
You can alternatively download it directly from here (click it):

If you play it on Steam, please right click it in your library, select "properties" and then go to the "betas" tab. From there, select the public beta. No code required. Please tell me if the beta build runs with less crashes.
Yeah, it's not morally questionable at all to have children being mauled by the living dead. Not the publicity we want and I don't think a lot of people will really miss it.
Play the game in safe / compatibility mode :)
It's not uncommon for a game to be in development for several years. It heavily depends on the budget, team size, feature count and complexity and various other things.
Don't be fooled by big studios being able to push out a sequel once a year. Developing a game takes years. Even when you're "just" making a platformer.
That's normal because of memory leaks, for now.
Please give us more information on our support forums:
We'll try tio help you as qucik as we can.
I think the demo is currently only on Steam. We will get it up to Desura asap, i fpossible.
Ha, we're looking forward to NPCs as much as anyone.
There is no known date, but let me quote from the Book of Lemmy:
"Now we're on Steam, bug fixes / performance / stability aside, we can start full force on finishing the NPC system. We hoped to have them in for Steam but by the time it came to it, the risk of extra bugs was too high."
To clarify, Lemmy is one of the two coders of PZ. Until recently, the main focus was to get the game up and running for Steam. Hope that puts a bit of context into the quote :)
No, buying the game on Steam gets you only that; the Steam version.
Buying it on Desura gets you a Steam key as well.
Meant to add to my previous post. For completeness' sake:
Please try dropping your resolution.
In the options menu, please also try locking the FPS to 30 and only increase it if you get a stable 30fps with it.
Further optimisations will be done. Please report in if these tips make a difference for you.
