I was initially planning an alpha release early this year before I decided to work on the biomes and planets, so it will take 6 more months before I decide a date. 1 biome was added as of now and there will be many more like forests, tundra, asteroids , etc... with cities to visit and many more surprises there, so there is a lot of art to add. So for the first alpha I am planning to have at least 2 biomes complete and keep adding into it later.
I never played Buck Rogers Countdown to Doomsday, seems I missed a good old one, I played a lot Genesis games but I never saw this one around, and I just spent like 15 minutes today watching youtube let's play it just for my curiosity, just to add, there is almost no load times in this game ;-) ... yet , most probably there won't be more than 2 or 3 seconds when finished I hope.
Planning to have an alpha release by early next year, during the first quarter, I just want to make sure most of the internal systems and crew actions do work together and finish some more art. Space battles do mostly work but internals still need some more work and polish.
I think you are right, it makes a lot of sense and I like your idea, I will change a little bit the code so the higher levels will only be available while on the job and up to level 15 or around that through training. Thanks for your feedback!
At this moment I don't have a specific date, but given the current development status I think an alpha/beta version will be on playtest by end of november, and targeting a first release on XBLIG in December before Christmas, the PC version will follow after or around that time if everything goes as planned. Still haven't tested the current build on XBOX, on PC basic missions are working now, but still there is a lot to do in the next few weeks.
