I will be looking into localisation post-release :)
Hi there, nope still on steam.
Search veil of crows, not Lords castle & bastards
Actually, you need to copy all files from the default folder apart from 'StartingConditionsxml.xml' =from the default folder. This mod is quite out of date.
Check the mod support page on the steam forums if you would like some help.
Cheers!
Hey there - Kerry from Veil of crows here.
If anyone is having an issue with this mod, just copy the ArmourXML.xml file from the 'Default' mod folder into the 'Life Extended' mod folder. The LE file is outdated.
I have messaged the creator about this issue.
Cheers everyone for enjoying VOC and its mods!
Not quite yet, but soon. Just getting some things in order.
Cheers!
Hope to have the launch trailer ready soon. This one is a few months old but thought worth sharing. Graphics and performance have improved since!
Cool. Just curious. Game looks great!
Hey, no multiplayer planned for this iteration. It is something I would love to consider for a sequel.
Probably closer to the end of early access. At least a few months away. But I have every intention.
I'll never stop friend! I would like to point out my aim is to take inspiration from those games, but also create something unique.
I hope you enjoy it upon early access release.
When you have a hero at level 15, you can declare them the king of your faction. Since all factions are fighting for the kingdom, you declare war on everyone else unless allied (And they don't have a king). A lord of a castle or a village chief can only influence their selected vassal, however, the king can influence all of your towns, villages and armies.
Your inspiring post brings a tear to mine. Stay tuned, announcements coming.
Thank you! I will be dropping the release date for early access shortly :D
Hey! Thank you for your interest. VOC will be coming to steam early access in the next couple of weeks. My goal is to be heavily involved in the community, and most importantly listen to player feedback. The make or break for any strategy game is how well its balanced, and community feedback will help shape that.
Hey thankyou. The game plays very different to stronghold, but I aim to make castle sieges as fun.
Hello! Thank you for your comments.
Economy is pretty simple. Supply/ demand for each town effects trade prices, as does the influence from the local lord / chief (or who you have in your army when trading). AI towns will actively seek to take over villages producing resources they do not have access to.
A simple moral system for AI's is in, they will retreat their forces when they know they cannot win. This system is still being adjusted, and may be effected by AI army general in the future.. however the purpose of AI army retreat is to 'fight another day' and preserve units.
Army general also effects units attack/ defence (depending on leadership skill).
It is up to players to call a retreat, your units do not currently retreat on their own, although it is something I have considered (effected by army losses, current HP etc). This may change in the future.
There is a 'Retreat' and a 'Withdraw' option.
Withdraw is only available if you are attacking, and have not received any losses. It is mainly for when you attack an army and realise you have made a mistake :P Withdraw has no further consequences.
Retreat becomes available once the player has losses, retreating your army runs the risk of losing a small percentage of your units to the deserters faction. Any retreating units 'killed' by the enemy have a chance of becoming prisoners. Prisoners can be sold for a profit, or converted to peasants in town prisons.
I hope this answers your questions :)
Cheers for that mate! The world def needs more medieval games!
Thank you! Been a long time coming, but the time is right. Thank you again for your encouragement and support. It means a lot.
I have been going for a "Warband meets stronghold, with a dash of Total war." kinda feel.
Thankyou! I am hoping to have this game early access ready in the next couple of months. Webiste is www.veilofcrows.com
Cheers! Planned for first quarter 2017. Ill post an article :)
I always wished the developers of stronghold would make a single player version of Kingdoms... so there is def some inspiration there :)
I sometimes develop on a fairly average laptop (GTX 950, i7 2.6gig, 16 gig ram) on full graphics settings, and the default 200 active units, however, there are plenty of graphics options if your machine is struggling.
My beast of a desktop (32 gigs of ram, dual GTX 980's) can run smoothly in a build with around 300 active units on full settings.
I am also yet to optimise the code properly, which should get a few more FPS. I will post official specs closer to early access release. Hope this helps
Excellent. Stronghold has been a major influence for castle sieges.
No multiplayer planned for this iteration... maybe in a sequel :)
I look forward to seeing more in the future! Please keep it up. Consider this game followed :)
