I think you can update it through steam with the steam key with you were given(should've anyhow) there is a manual wa to do it to but I cant remember!

I would rather just buy a game rather than just buy stuff through micro transactions, The only f2p I've ever enjoyed is TF2 but even that ive got bored of quickly.
