Hello,
This is something that I wanted to upload my own gallery. It represents the first image of a goal I have. To build a large gallery of my own art here on my Mod DB page.
I hope you like it since it represents the first of many I wish to make. They won't all be Planets ;)
Here is some info on this image though.
It was originally rendered out at 5000 by 2813 (I know big right?)
I reduced it to 2048 by 1152 just for aesthetic reasons.
It's composed of three typical layers.
There is a very high resolution Earth Texture with bump maps included. A very high cloud texture map, again with bump maps. Then an atmosphere which is really just a shader.
Clouds cast shadows on the planet to.
