Open Vehicular Epic is a 3D vehicle emulator based around intense gameplay, programmed in an epic, unreal style. More than 50 vehicles have been added over the years, with each one having its own abilities, learning curve, and character. This leads to gameplay that is both fun and dynamic, yet still demands intelligent strategy from the user in order to win. Multiplayer support exists, though port-forwarding or a VPN service is required. OpenV.E. is programmed in pure Java(FX) and does not utilize any game engines. This has been a central ideology behind the development, with benefits including a unique experience and easy source access for anyone to fully modify the project as they wish. Open Vehicular Epic is a non-profit, open-source Gradle project. As of this writing, you will need an IDE to run it.

For the love of god compile an actual runnable build for this. No gamer nor many who are tech illiterate wants to download extra programs to make something run, this is highly impractical especially in this day and age.
Yes, I know. The problem is that the game does not utilize game engines (as stated) and is written basically entirely in Java(FX). Because it's designed to run on all operating systems from a single folder, and due to my limited time & knowledge on compiling runnable builds for every OS, it has remained the way it is.
Why can't I play the later builds of Open Vehicular Epic? Isn't there a way to make them playable, Ryan?
What issue are you having? Did you try opening with Netbeans 12.0 (not a later version)?
Yes I did. No matter how I tried, it always fails to work. Is there any way, whatsoever, to make the latest builds of Open Vehicular Epic playable without Netbeans 12.0?
I will try to release a new build tonight that should work on the latest Netbeans (12.6) without issue. Yes, the current release has a problem that seems to be either Gradle or Maven related.
Ryan I know ways of improving your game
And plus I can help model too
If you have any ideas, feel free to post them here.
I make no assurance they will be implemented however, especially now that I'm rarely developing.
This is a really fun game to play. Too bad the latest build is unplayable. I mean, many builds of this game can be unplayable
