This game follows the story of what happens after the John Carpenter 1982 movie adaptation of the John W. Campbell JR Novel "Who Goes There?". The original game borrows heavily on the story from the 2002 video game and the current sequel expands further on the plot after Captain Blake defeats the Thing entity. After the death of Whitley and the destruction of Gen Inc property; Captain J.F.Blake boards a rescue plane and leaves Antarctica. Complications arise and the aircraft malfunctions and crashes. With no report from Blake the Alaska base sends in a new rescue team of which you the player take control. Your task is to find Captain Blake and escort him back to Alaska. However the thing entity did not die with Whitley on that day...

Very nice with only 1 flaw. An open jeep in an Arctic region?

Perhaps more something like that?

Attached on top of it a mg. It would be also more consistent with the snowvehicles we've seen in the 2 movies. Very nice with only 1 flaw. An open jeep in an Arctic region?

Thanks its definitely something to consider. I don't imagine them driving outside their base area in the jeep it wouldn't be very practical xD

Love fighting this boss. The minor details like blood splatter on the car and window as you kill the troops on it makes it all the much better. When i saw this thing at the airstrip, i knew i had to destroy it.

Description

The First Mechanical enemy to be introduced to the game and the most durable out of all the US units, far superior to the Heavy Trooper unit. The US Jeep will be added when the game is updated to Original & Story Mode. The main area considered for this enemy is the airstrip as it makes the most sense.

The US Jeep is a 3 stage boss battle. At first you will have to deal with an evasive and dangerous enemy with multiple attack actions. Once you reduce the vehicles mobility by taking out the Driver (Sniper Design) you will be left with the gunner and passenger to deal with. To keep this battle difficult I decided to have the gunner be the last target so throughout your ordeal you are going to be harassed by gunfire and crowd control attacks. Overall I am very happy with the outcome of the jeep and although it isn't a significant change to the game its something that I wanted to include for a long time. An attack chopper might of been a bit hardcore...

The Concept art for this enemy is fantastic and if Jose ever posts it on any of his sites I will be sure to update the link on this image its worth checking out (He has some of the concept art on there already).
