Quite a few new things can be seen in this image. Can anyone spot them all?
I wonder if there will be something like a "Dark Dwarven Musket" item with high damage but low attack speed.
An Arquebus or Handcannon would be more likely, since the WBC universe is only now starting to use gunpowder, and even then it is only a Dwarven thing.
If I could make models, I would make a Thunderwagon chariot for the regular dwarves, a chariot with 2 bronze boars at the front and a cannon that would deal wide area damage, but only minor damage.
I tried to take the screenshot while my hero was attacking, but I took it too soon after firing so you can't really see the projectile in flight.
I see an altered HUD with quickspells slots, a red soul-like creature (like the Daemons summon when they kill enemy units), and lastly, a cool unit description box on the HUD.
And a cool bow! And new perks?
Isn't the panel taking too much room in lower res? If you preplace buildings/items in the bottom, will they be selectable/opened? I am thinking of dry and wet Kharn's map (the starting mines for the orange player - can you select them or place builders in there?) and the tutorial (can you reach the item?).
I suppose all it needs is to adjust the editor itself.
Yep, all taken care of.
You're the man.
A picture of the unit your mouse cursor is hovering over does get displayed next to the text (above the locked unit) - it's just that the text remains after you are no longer hovering over that unit.
The quickspells are the same spells bound to the F keys. Hovering over them tells you what the spell is (and of course allows you to activate them there, too). It does indeed use the icons from the spell pages, so they can bee seen in different colours. Not being too fond of Time magic, my Orc hero only has Chaos spells bound to the F keys and thus all of them have the same colour.
The red soul deserves a proper introduction, so I won't talk about it here.
With the introduction of "ranged skills", 12 new items images were added to allow for the creation of many new ranged items. Throwing Axes, magical staffs, crossbows, Dark Elven Bows with poison arrows etc... They're all in there!
As for those new perks, they increase your hero's capability of using ranged weapons - making them more potent! They're quite specific to weapon types, so improving your hero's throwing perk only improves his effectiveness with throwing items, like the Sling.
We now have ~ 60+ ranged weapons in-game. Most staves will also fire magical projectiles, and there should be a roughly even chance of getting a ranged or melee weapon in a loot drop.
