A FPS having you travel between a forest simulation and an abandoned base; relying on the skills of an intelligent orb-looking companion at your side The Legacy is a first-person game that will have you travelling alternatively between the simulation of an open-world style tropical forest and a seemingly abandoned base of operations while relying on the abilities of an intelligent orb-looking companion at your side. To progress in one phase, you will have to progress in the other and vice versa; the game therefore promises to offer two distinctively different playstyles with one being a challenge based survival theme in a natural setting and the other being a linearly progressed story phase that is more slow paced (to a certain point!) with collectables and puzzles.

Crafting! Currently our focus is on getting the crafting system up and running.

In The Legacy, you have no user interface (most of the time). That means you have no "crafting window" telling you what you should have to build a specific item. Instead, you put items that you want to use for crafting on the ground, then you initiate crafting mode. The system checks to see if there's any possible outcome to the crafting of those items, and if there is you can craft it. If not, you won't be told what you're lacking. You should use your mind to think what may be required to craft a certain item.

What you then may do is (and it is highly advised that you do this) taking out your logbook (made from vines and leaves) and writing in it the recipe you just discovered so that you don't forget about it later on. This makes things very realistic and immersive in our opinion.

And this is exactly what we're working on right now. The framework of the crafting system itself is complete, we're working on its actual implementation. Should take about 3-4 starting from the time of this post.

As soon as its done, I'll get a features post about this showcasing it with a video.

As always, let us know what you think!
