Development resumes, here's some trivia about the minor triumphs I've had since the last post

Hey there!
I'm back and well rested, time to continue work on the game.
Staying true to my weekly schedule, I have a few things to mention that might be of interest.

Good news for people with very old hardware, the laptop I had with me for the last week actually managed to run the game after circumventing a crash.

The laptop has a 1.66ghz CPU, 1GB of RAM, and an Intel GMA X3100 graphics card, and was able to run the game at a resolution of 800x600 at a playable framerate.
I do expect the system requirements to go up for the release though, but who knows.
In any case, I'm proud of the result, considering the game engine targets high-to-mid-end PCs.

I also took another stab at coding a better pathfinding for the AI, as even in the video you might notice it's easy to get enemies stuck in corners. (They only plan ahead one tile at a time) I managed to come up with something that will work well for the game.

It's nothing special, I'm just glad I have the skills to code something like this from scratch without relying on an internet connection for tutorials or searching for coding solutions. :)

That's pretty much it, I'm glad I was able to spend some time on the game while I was away.
Next week might have several days of distraction in store for me yet again, but it's likely the last occasion for the summer. I'll be back soon with another progress report.
