How Do I ...? Thread - StaudSoft's Synthetic World

I am struggling with the crafting side of the game. The rest is straight forward and fun, but I can't seem to craft anything more complex than some wooden stuff?

I can do chests, cabinets and bricks and the like, but no electronics.
I have leveled up my technology level to 21st C and have master of materials and faster learning, but not the precision yet (working on leveling up more). What precisely do each of those mean. What is the Aikido - whit about - I assume it is fighting skill?

Also when I use an axe to cut cotton I only get seeds, how do I pick the cotton so I can make linen?

When I use a table I don't see a recipe for linen, how is that unlocked?

Electronics: You need a 3D printer for the electronics. Then the recipes will appear.
Precision: Place blocks smaller than 1 m.
Master of Materials: Certain block types have submaterials. This applies to concrete and bricks.
Technology level: This makes the advanced stuff to appear.
Aikido will reduce your fall damage. Ok, it's not so obvious for someone who doesn't do Aikido. One important point in Aikido is to learn how to behave that your body is not hurt.

The cotton plant has 3 stages:
1. Grow Stage
2. Final Plant
3. Final Plant with Cotton

If you collect a cotton plant in the world it is in stage 3. If you plant a new plant you must wait until stage 3 (it will then be very intensiv white).
If you use an axe on a plant of stage 3 it will return to stage 2. If you do not use the axe again the plant will go to stage 3 after some time.

There has been a bug in the earlier versions where stage 3 is not reached. If you have the newest version replanting will help.

Table: I just cheated me a table and there was a linen recipe. Hmm, if it doesn't appear I do not understand the reason. But I already made a Let's Play series where I show you to craft a bed. I will post it on IndieDB once it is released.

I will also test crafting and the technological level. If it doesn't work I will create an update.

Ok, I seems that I broke something. I will repair the advanced stuff and then upload a new version.

I have been wondering why I couldn't progress to the more exciting technology levels.

Will save games work or will I need to start a new world?

Savegames will always work. I made some crazy migration system.

And these were no big changes. I accidently wrote in C++ '*' instead of '&' and the result was that the advanced technology levels couldn't be accessed. But I will test the advanced stuff a little bit more before I upload the update. I think I will send it to Desura next weekend or the following.

Also is there any way to change the save game location.
Maybe an option in the settings menu would be great.
The files are big and I would like to put them in a folder that is not in the operating system drive (as I don't want it to clog up so much)

I will put it on the todo list.

Ok, it seems that I already implemented it. You can use the start parameter --userdatadir="D:\\SynWorld". The directory should already exist.
