Discovered the game today. Demo is promising, but have a few doubts before I buy it, maybe the developer will help me?? :)

- Will be possible to mod the player and alien races ships graphics?

- Will be possible to build "small" warp capable ships? Corvettes, Frigates, Destroyers?

-More questions when I progress more in the demo!

Thanks

Currently, ship graphics are already moddable, but only for both sides at the same time. If people want support to have separate sprites for them, that's easy to add though. Let me know if you are planning anything like that!

The smaller ships do not have to be warp capable themselves, because they are grouped with cruiser+ class ships in fleets. Each light cruiser provides you with 20000 tons of spare warp capacity, on top of its own mass. So if you build a fleet with a cruiser plus 20000 tons of smaller ship, the whole fleet can warp. The cruiser is supposed to act a little like an aircraft carrier does at sea, by transporting shorter ranged units to their destination.

hello,

will be there a sandbox mode in the future?

What kind of sandbox do you mean? A modder can already build a scenario with different restrictions or different planetary setups than the main campaign.

If you are talking about autogenerated solar system layouts, that's not going to happen in the near future since it's hard to make autogenerated systems well balanced. So those will likely have to be manually created in the forseeable future.

hello, thanks for your answer.
My "fear" is: if every scenario is balanced and generated every time with the same conditions, the game will not be the same all time? or with other words: the game is enough replayable?

thanks again.

Well, yes, that's why modders can put different stuff into scenarios.

As for the main campaign, some part of the replayability is supposed to come from different diplomatic paths and approaches to both Earth and the Aliens. A first part of that should be coming in a patch pretty soon. Also, while it's still in Alpha, the game is changing all the time anyway, so if you pick it up a few months later, the gameplay should already have changed a lot.
