KharnShot 04

Multiplayer fighting just got personal.

Skara is a competitive hack and slash developed by a tiny team of crazy indie's using Unreal Engine 4. Team up with or against your friends and compete for dominance in a world racked by cosmic disaster.

Play the pre-alpha on Steam and share your thoughts? Great games aren’t developed overnight, and the best games are developed with a community.

SKARA's second Indie Prize comes from Casual Connect USA, which finishes this week in San Francisco, California. The award is for Best Game Audio and comes on the heels of the Indie Prize for Best Game Design, won in Singapore earlier this summer.

Skara's sound team consists of just two: Marc Celma, Spanish composer currently residing in Japan, and Spanish sound designer, David Garcia.

"I love working on Skara." Celma said upon hearing about the award. "Its artwork is so beautiful, and its lore so rich, that I try to make the music be at the same level, and convey all it says to me. I'm happy someone thinks I'm on the right path!"

"You can't underestimate the importance of audio to the gameplay experience." says Pablo, Skara's Creative Director. "We put every effort to making sure every detail is in line with that experience. It's great to have that work recognized!"

I absolutely love the look and feel of this game. It's outrageous to think that a game of this quality is an indie title. Well deserving of your award. Congratulations!

Thank you for your feedback. The magic debate has been a hot one both in the studio and with the community. I would love to hear more from you about your own opinion on magic in games and why you didn't expect to see anything like that in Skara.

Our approach has crystalized around the idea of having some skill based magic. If you look into the history of magic, you find that it is a way of describing the impact of the indescribable. What is magic for some is science for others... We will try and take advantage of that vision!

Stills are looking amazing. Hmm some names... ugh I cannot get basic cheesy names out of my head like "slasher", "blade whisperer"

slasher is a great reference! Cheesy is fine, in fact cheesy makes us laugh which is partly the point of good bot names! Thanks for the submissions :)
