Shepherd Slaughter is a fully procedurally generated top down RPG. Every adventure is different. It combines both a huge overworld map with unique locations and rare monsters with underground themed dungeons including: Fire, magic, prehistoric, and more. Use your axe to cut through trees, your pickaxe to hack through stone - But careful: large monsters even tear through walls while chasing you! Explore ten dangerous dungeons, each multiple levels deep and containing unique monsters, dungeon features, traps and items. For each dungeon, there is a unique and challenging above ground location that has a key to it's entrance. You'll also venture into caves with unique treasures and rewards. Finally, an evil fortress must be conquered that contains several final challenges and a HUGE boss fight. Plus there is a tower-defense like survival mode that includes a building system where the player must defend a flock of sheep against waves of enemies. Can you conquer the evil god's island?

Hi, is there an ini or cfg file that I can access to edit the resolution / window size? Playing in winowed mode I get 800 x 600 but feel that it's too small.
I don't prefer this game in full screen because I like messing around with net radio while playing.
Also, I got this in the Indie Fort on Gate - Is that version just as updated as the one here on Desura?
BTW as horrible as this game looks I still find that it was sophisticated enough to be enjoyable. Having a game pad you can map (like Logitech) helps as well.
Hello! Happy you enjoy it. The resolution is set unfortunately. All versions available are updated equally - If you want to cross activate or have any other questions, feel free to email us. :]
Thank you very much. =)
I played the demo and liked it. I would buy the game if it had sound effects. :(
I bought this game during the "Because we may" initiative. There are any chances to redeem the game on Desura?

anyone know how to equip armour??
Your character auto equips the best available armor.
It's an ok real-time roguelike-like but there are a few rough edges.
1) The generation seems to take far longer than it should
2) I find the menu system to select weapons a bit awkward. I would have used the number keys to select these and put the crafted items onto the menu instead (or control plus numbers, or alt plus numbers...)
3) I got down quite a few floors in the demo dungeon but it was all a bit simplistic for me compared with the roguelikes I'm used to, e.g. brogue, angband, DCSS.
I'm a roguelike developer so maybe I'm being harsher than I should or judging the game by the wrong standards. It's competent enough. It's just that I regularly see games of this quality that are both free and open source.
Thanks for your feedback!
The game is definitely somewhere in the middle between a hardcore roguelike and more casual game (i.e. automated inventory management/healing). Take a look around on youtube if you're curious for playthroughs/reviews to check out some more features/places/content that isn't present/accessible in the demo :]
