Secret of Escape is a fast-paced stealth game, you control a man named Thomas, trapped out in the middle of nowhere inside a complex building run by a mysterious and psychopathic host known only as Dyer. With a series of explosives strapped to his body and a camera following his every move, Thomas has to play Dyer’s game in order to survive. If he can make it through all of Dyer’s levels, and find the keys to in the levels, Thomas will leave free. The game has numerous levels with one main goal, you start from a green zone and you have 15 seconds to reach the red zone where the timer stops. If the timer reaches zero, the explosives on Thomas’ body will detonate, killing him instantly. However all the levels are filled with death traps…Mines. Spikes, Vision Based Turrets, Sound Seeking Androids and more. Just don't forget, do not let time run out.

A new gameplay video, new features and effects, all the stuff that has been happening since October. It's been a while since I've done a mega update, so there is a lot to talk about.

Here is the set list of updates:

  • Level count is 30 (+4 additional gameplay screens)
  • Three New Obstacles (Sound Turret, Camera and Laser Emitters)
  • Brand new sound effects from freesound.org
  • Alpha Masked Lighting and Shadow Casting
  • Menu systems reworked to allow smooth menu selections
  • Timer updated (stops when reached the exit, continues after death)
  • Minor tweaks based on feedback from Indie Haven Loading Bar Meet and Norwich Games Expo.
  • Bug Fixes (good to fix a lot of bugs)

I'm going to aim for 40 levels in total, 21 being playable and 19 being unlockable. I'm currently working on the unlocking system as well, and I want it to be simple enough so that the possibly ways to unlock levels is near limitless.

While it is a shame for me to miss my planned release date, delaying the game and not being restricted by a set deadline has proven to make developing the game for the best. It has allowed me to work on new features, improve existing features and add more content.
